Crazy scary flooding again in SW Colorado and across the Four Corners open.substack.com/pub/landde…
I think I speak for everyone here when I say, "Ha ha."
A federal judge threw out President Donald Trump’s multibillion-dollar lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal and media mogul Rupert Murdoch over a story reporting on his ties to wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein. apnews.com/article/trump-med…

So who’s committing fraud?
A private prison in Minnesota was offered for sale for $75 million last year.
The Trump administration paid $495.6 million for the same facility.
That’s a difference of more than $420 million in taxpayer money.
And these are the people lecturing Minnesotans about fraud?
The hypocrisy is staggering.
Every accusation from Trump folks is starting to sound like a confession.

If voter fraud is such a concern for Trump, why would he pardon a former election official who was convicted on three misdemeanors and four felonies in an election interference case related to a security breach of her county's voting system?

.@jamestalarico: The problem with Ken Paxton is not that he didn't grow up in Texas. It's that he doesn't understand Texas. I believe anyone can be a Texan. It doesn't matter if you're an 8th generation Texan like me, or if you just got here. What makes a Texan is deep in the heart. Texas used to be known as the friendly state. Friendship is our official state motto. The word Texas comes from a Native American word for 'friend.' They used that word to describe a friend in a different tribe. Friendship across tribes. Friendship across divisions. That's what makes Texas so great.

A few months into President Donald Trump’s second term, political appointees at the Department of Homeland Security made an unusual request of its agency focused on cybersecurity:
Secretly acquire a voting machine and hack it.

My god.
The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. vanityfair.com/story/jared-k…

Meanwhile, what Russia is doing with the money Trump is giving them:
"According to analysis conducted by the Financial Times, 24 ships were hit in the two weeks to 11 October, the most intense period of attacks in the entirety of the war. It is almost double the second worst period, when in the first two weeks of the war in March, 13 ships were hit. 'Iran may be developing its anti-ship missile capabilities to improve its ability to target vessels,' the Institute for the Study of War said."
Bet you'll never guess who's helping Iran develop its anti-ship missile capabilities...

Tillis. Not holding back. Also saw @JohnCornyn just tweet “Lindsey would be appalled.” But key question…what can/is the senate going to do about it?
Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand? It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day. If the President wants to actually bring down energy prices, he can do it by solving the Iran problem, not by doing a solid for Vladimir Putin.

This is truly a historic moment. President Trump has indefinitely suspended sanctions against Russia that would have been required in the Graham law. He went against the last request of Lindsey Graham, whom he called his friend. And he handed Putin the opportunity to finance the war against Ukrainians, who are fighting for their freedom.
Trump calls this a "national interest." But diesel prices went up because of his war against Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. So waiving sanctions on Russia does not solve that problem. Instead, it creates another one.
Putin cannot win on the battlefield, so he attacks civilians. Russian missiles and drones are destroying homes, hospitals, schools, and churches. According to the UN, just two weeks of October have been among the deadliest for civilians in Ukraine in recent years.
Forty percent of Russia's budget goes to the war. After Trump's latest decisions, Russia will make record profits. The formula is simple: "Money turns into missiles. Missiles turn into civilian deaths."
Trump is not stopping Russia's war against Ukraine. Trump is helping Putin win it.
As a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, I want to address the people of America, regardless of their political views.
Do you really believe that the killing of millions of people and the loss of Ukraine's independence are in your national interest?
If not, what will you do to stop America from financing the genocide that Putin is waging against Ukrainians with Trump's support?

.@AnnieAndrewsMD: Just one day before we took the debate stage, a new investigation revealed that Darline Graham's family has direct business ties to China, something that she omitted from her financial disclosures. Her husband is a C-suite executive at a company connected to Chinese weapons manufacturing, a company that relies on a Chinese manufacturer with ties to major Chinese military suppliers, including an arms trader founded by the Chinese Communist Party's own military. Let me be clear, national security isn't an elective when you're a US senator. The American people deserve to know whether their senators have conflicts of interest involving foreign weapons manufacturers.

Under this law, House and Senate Democratic leaders can introduce a “Joint Resolution of Disapproval” to prevent the purchase of Russian oil, which Congress then has to vote on in an expedited manner. Schumer and Jeffries should do so ASAP.
