2iq thoughts regarding $HYPE:
mid-curve opinion seems to be $HOOD / $COIN taking all the market share away etc
there is a world where the future success of popular CEXes like hood/cb is actually co-aligning with Hyperliquid's success as the #1 DEX
if you look at Robinhood getting repriced to binance levels/12 fig valuations the trend is clear: people are voracious to bid on degeneracy/revenue generated through degeneracy. The "max long degeneracy in the coming years" thesis stands for now
having an open book is beneficial for the space and Hyperliquid managed to bring institutional interest back to crypto just like stablecoins did (tether especially in recent years); market seems to price that in currently and they are actually somewhat believing again in sth that came out of crypto - a revenue generating protocols with real users and their tendency to risk everything like we saw on that James Wynn saga.
HyperEVM/HyperCore tech aside, the race is on for Hyperliquid to get accepted broader outside crypto - bringing stocks/options on-chain in the most liquid way we ever saw
PA wise this does +10%/-10% candles but fascinating thing is variance of investors are accepting it as spot play again. Last time we saw that spot interest was probably SOL around memecoin mania - timeframe much higher than avg VC dumping locked tokens
TL;DR: there is a world where $HYPE still succeeds as a long-term top 5 token (excluding stablecoins)

📰 "Stop Knife Catching" out now answering the question how crypto went from "buying liquidations is free money 90% of the time" to month-long downtrends without any meaningful relief bounce
TL;DR: Perps used to drive price. Liquidation cascades created mechanical bounces. That loop is broken. Most selling today is spot: VCs unlocking, funds rebalancing, ETF outflows.

$HYPE really set the stage for a whole new landscape of exchanges - probably there will be like 3-4 real competitors on the long run, Hyperliquid and Lighter (if 0% fees are staying) seem locked in by now

Numbers are surely inflated by airdrop farmers, still not a bad idea to collect some free market exposure by trading on some DEXes over time (be careful with slippage + fees)

extending this thread with casually getting Citadel & co involved at a 9b valuation
fade prediction markets at own risk

get comfy with lower position sizing in times like these
sth that no one is telling you on CT but probably would be the best choice for 95% on it

We asked Moritz if there's anything he'd like to share with the community, and he replied with two things:
- When pair trading, bet on outperformance, not direction
- Getting comfy with lower size is probably an underestimated skill (we couldn't agree more)
Amazing advice. 🍐

things starting to play out in real-time
Seeing participants still surprised by $HYPE’s downside resilience
imo, it only makes sense for it to catch up on market share within crypto (HYPE.D up only), given its undeniable premium product; price could still offer another discounted level in usd-terms if crypto gets rerated lower
probably my best tweet ever described this playbook a few months ago: nitter.cf/roundtrippedcap/status…

"How are we gonna extract as much dollars as possible? This shit makes fucking 19 usd a day! 19 fucking dollars, guys - we are so damn fucked"
it had one last inning
$SPX dead
$SPX attracted the tiktok users but in the end:
1) those guys probably know nothing about valuations
2) aren't sophisticated in any way
3) emotionally attached to their dollars; therefore ready to full clip their stack on any given red day (like today)
probably a topped market
There will be a "we are so back" sooner than most participants expect probably
digital gold narrative quite good
