I honestly thought they'd just have the first bachelor from 2002 back on the show again to be the #GoldenBachelor. I mean, he's still single.
Without further ado, meet Gerry, our golden 71. 🌹 Get ready for The Golden Bachelor coming to ABC this fall. @GoldenBachABC
Disgusted by all the cruel #bachelorette fans lacking compassion and unable to empathize with another human being. None of Spencer's behavior makes him "psycho" or someone to be afraid of or confused by. What happened to kindness? People are fucking awful.
They say dancing improves mental health, but having depression is like going to a silent dance party and being the only one without headphones. 🎵🤷♀️

Some writers want to change the world. That’s terrific. We need those. But we also need silly authors, goofy ones, the kind that tell stories that make the world bearable until those serious authors can make it better." ~ Barlow Adams
Check out this awesome spoken-word essay about the meaning of Juneteenth from @chrisemdin, a teacher at my alma mater @TeachersCollege.

I'm appalled at how many said to give students the number for or to call counseling services while in your office. wtf? Besides the fact counseling centers are understaffed and they likely already know the number, that student came for a reason & they chose YOU to talk to. [next]
Please don't refer students or friends or family or anyone elsewhere. That resolves nothing. Every one of us has the potential to make a difference by simply listening. LISTENING IS FUCKING POWERFUL. Thank them for trusting you, then shut up & pay attention to their words. [next]
I work in mental health and wrote an article in Slate a while ago about how anyone can talk to someone about suicidal thoughts. It could be helpful to anyone in that situation, maybe even someone just wanting to listen better. I hope it's useful.

So excited to share that I spoke (in front of 100+ people!) at the @afspnational Out of the Darkness Walk for Columbia-Greene Counties this weekend—I even met State Senator @MichelleHinchey and her staff!! 😃
Thrilled and very grateful to have my piece from @Slate included with these fabulous essays in @MemoirMonday! Thank you, @saribotton!
