The filmmakers approached Taylor approximately 18 months before the movie’s release, while she was still busy with The Eras Tour. After eventually hearing about the opportunity through her brother Austin, Taylor watched a private screening and immediately FaceTimed the team to confirm she wanted to write the song. Stanton also revealed that Disney CEO Bob Iger personally called him from the recording studio while Taylor was working on the track. “It felt like kismet. It felt like Jessie’s voice. It still blows me away that it happened and that it happened the way it did.”
