Through @rwamrec and the #ShoraNeza Project (supported by @WFP_Rwanda couples who completed the 12-week JOT program are stepping up as community activists. Across 18 districts & 43 sectors, @rwamrec brought together JOT graduates & local JADF officers to tackle the core economic barriers facing women in agriculture: resource ownership, financial control, and shared household decisions. Now, RWAMREC’s Shora Neza activists are hitting the ground in @NgomaDistrict, @KayonzaDistrict, @RwamaganaDistr, @BugeseraDistr and @RuhangoDistrict—bringing these dialogues to cooperatives, the National Youth Council, and Women’s Councils. The target: empowering 5,000+ young farmers to build fairer, more productive farming households. Sustainable agriculture starts with shared leadership. #RWAMREC #ShoraNeza #ZeroHunger #GenderJustice #Rwanda

❤️Celebrating positive change in families across Musanze, Gakenke and Burera! The Bandebereho Program has marked the closure of three programme cycles: 📍 Musanze District: Cycle 11 📍 Gakenke District: Cycle 3 📍 Burera District: Cycle 6 The closing community dialogue sessions celebrated couples’ commitment, with certificates awarded to couples who demonstrated good attendance throughout the sessions. Participants also shared stories of change, reflecting on how the programme has influenced their lives and family relationships. Beyond the celebrations, these stories highlight the importance of investing in positive masculinity, gender equality and supportive family relationships. Let’s continue investing in initiatives that help couples strengthen their relationships, share responsibilities and build healthier, more equitable families. ❤️ Together, we can support positive change that extends beyond individuals to families and communities. @GlobalInnovFund @equimundo_org @IDRC_CRDI @gchallenges @SpringImpact @RBCRwanda @RwandaHealth @RwandaGender @HIAorg @oakfnd @DRKFoundation @BureraDistrict@MusanzeDistrict@GakenkeDistrict #Bandebereho #PositiveMasculinity #GenderEquality #FamilyWellbeing #RWAMREC

How can we unlock young farmers’ full potential? 🌱 In Munyaga, @RwamaganaDistr, @rwamrec through the @WFP_Rwanda_CD-supported SHORA NEZA Project, is training young farmers as community facilitators in two approaches: 🤝 Gender Transformative Approach (GTA): Engages unmarried young farmers and their male family influencers to challenge harmful gender norms and promote equal opportunities for young women and men. ❤️ Journeys of Transformation (JoT): Engages married young farmers and their partners to strengthen communication, shared decision-making, and equitable relationships at home. By addressing gender inequalities both within families and across communities, these interventions aim to help young farmers, especially girls and women, realise their full agricultural and economic potential. #YoungFarmers #AgricultureDevelopment #CommunityFacilitators #WomenInAgriculture #SustainableFarming

What happens when children's eye conditions go unnoticed, gender inequalities persist, and disability inclusion is overlooked? @rwamrec in collaboration with, The Fred Hollows Foundations- FHF, has trained 106 headteachers in Karongi District starting on 13 October 2026, on gender equality, eye health, and disability inclusion under the Health Systems Strengthening for Eye Health in Rwanda initiative. The training equipped the headteachers with the skills to identify and refer potential eye conditions early, prevent gender-based violence, promote shared household responsibilities, and create more inclusive school environments. Participants developed action plans for eye-health awareness campaigns and committed to strengthening collaboration with health centres for screening and referrals. But the training is only the beginning 🎯 Sustainable impact requires continued collaboration among schools, health facilities, communities, government institutions, and development partners. 📢We invite you to join Rwamrec and FHF in strengthening school-based eye-health awareness, early identification and referral, gender equality, and disability inclusion—so that every child has a better chance to see clearly, learn confidently, and reach their full potential. @AustralianAid #The Fred Hollows Foundation-FHF #EyeHealthRwanda #GenderEquality #SchoolHealth #EyeCareAwareness

What happens when families choose change over conflict? Yesterday, in @NyaruguruDistr two groups completed RWAMREC’s Journey of Change, and the results speak for themselves. 💍Four families officially legalized their marriages, taking a meaningful step toward more stable and peaceful homes. But the journey doesn’t end at graduation. The Vice Mayor for Social Affairs, Byukusenge Assoumpta, urges the graduates to turn their new knowledge into action: support neighbors facing family conflicts, work closely with the district authorities, and help other families find a better way forward🤝 #FamilyChange #PeacefulHomes #LegalizeMarriage #JourneyOfChange #TogetherForChange

Did you know? ⚖️ UN data indicates that roughly 80 per cent of people displaced by climate emergencies and extreme weather events are women and children. Ensuring gender equality in climate policymaking is essential for effective climate adaptation and social resilience. On the road to #COP31, placing women’s leadership and equitable resource access at the forefront lies at the very heart of an inclusive climate transition. 🌸🌱 #COP31Türkiye #ClimateJustice

Through open dialogue and practical learning, participants discuss how positive masculinity, gender equality, and shared responsibility can strengthen families and build healthier, more inclusive communities.

🌍 RWAMREC's Project Coordinator Emmanuel Karamage presented today at the inaugural Africa Care Forum in Addis Ababa, sharing lessons from Bandebereho's scale-up — our gender-transformative couples programme delivered via Rwanda's community health worker system. The Forum (themed "Placing Care at the Centre of Africa's Development Agenda") highlighted that women & girls carry ~70% of Africa's unpaid care burden — worth an estimated USD 95B/year. Great conversations on why engaging men matters. 🙌 #Bandebereho #AfricaCareForum
