This type of person causes me concern for the prosperity of Canada. So much of western societies general public are so entrenched in positions like this. Almost funny really

Both are English speaking, Euro influenced western democracies, our citizens have lived, fought and died together for centuries against evil. There have been Americans involved in every Canadian achievement just like Canadians have been involved in every American achievement.

A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children.
I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.

Sorry but saving soldiers lives and dealing with the immediate after effect are more important than you wanting to know the juicy details of how they died before loved ones know are of no concern to me.
Many families will NOT be getting that "I'm ok" phone call tonight or tomorrow. Maybe, just maybe, show some respect.

Our energy sector wasn’t the only one that suffered a lost decade. From General Eyre’s memoir:
“Our international standing and relevance were in freefall, and our members around the world reported being excluded from more meetings, including with Five Eyes partners. I shared these observations with a very senior public servant, who was quite candid in stating the government didn’t care.”

The anti immigration movement supports a political class with immigrant spouses that would not be considered fluent English speakers.
This is the core problem on immigration and quality of life facing western countries everywhere: the UK, USA, Spain, Germany, Canada, Australia and more. What does it take to begin breaking this problem down?🧵

Right: we can still keep anyone in the country we just need to remove the policy and civil protections they have so they can work (for less) for their stay.

For super nerds like me who have been waiting for the text of the Bill C39, it is now live.
It is broadly what I expected: positive and ambitious reform in some critically important areas of the economy: major projects (1 year timeline, streamlining), transportation (efficiency, corridors, performance) and labour code (special mediator).
I am not a lawyer, so will eagerly await analysis and reactions from various law firms, unions and industry associations. I will post reactions and analysis that I find interesting and insightful in the coming days.

Trying not to get too excited yet. This type of policy (it’s a permanent one) is the exact model that Canada needs.
It’s like 12 days of Christmas for the energy sector. Thought we would have to wait for the budget for the announcement, if it came. But immediate expensing is being announced today for more capital spending categories including pipelines. “It’s one of the most significant changes in decades to the tax treatment of business investments in Canada, and is poised to ease the income tax burden for many companies.”
This is Carney’s answer to Big Beautiful Bill’s 100% bonus depreciation. I eagerly await details on what expands are covered, the amount that can be expenses and how long the regime will last.

Day 1 of @MarkJCarney’s Canada investment Summit was something I’ve never experienced before. These numbers match the PMs intent.

Cameco owns the largest commercial uranium refinery in the world. And it's not in Kazakhstan, China, or Russia. It's in Blind River, Ontario.
Cameco entered 2026 with contracts covering roughly 83 million kilograms of UF6 conversion services for 33 utilities around the world.
