I just saw a video that said that men and women psychologically rate their pain differently. If you're in an ER, and ask a man to rate his pain, between 1-10, he'll base that assessment on the spectrum of his actual experience with pain. 9 out of 10 of the worst pain he's ever experienced. Women however, will rate their pain based off of pain they haven't experienced. Rate between 1-10...well 10 would be being burned alive. They imagine the worse possible scenario, and make that their 10. I'm not being burned alive, so like a 6, or 7. I had to check with my husband on how he would rate it, and now we are both laughing at each other.
