had my hysteroscopy this morning and they found nothing abnormal or sinister (thankfully!!)
i’m at home now, they said i’ll have some severe cramping over the next few days but i’m very grateful that after such a long process of pushing for testing there is nothing bad going on and it was just one of those things. my hormones & blood tests all came back normal but i’m very thankful for everyone i have around me and everyone who has been by my side. i love & appreciate you all more than you’ll ever know ♡
i don’t like to get personal on here however i hope that at least one woman who may see this, will push for their doctor to get them the correct help ♡
since january, i have been having ongoing issues with my period. i have had my period for 8 months straight. after endless appointments with doctors, phone calls with 111 nurses and trips to A&E, i finally have an appointment with gynaecology tomorrow afternoon. i have never felt as miserable in my life as i have while these issues have been ongoing. i’ve felt dismissed by so many doctors until i finally found one who would listen to me rather than just telling me to double up on my pill, again. i was told to double up THREE times. nothing changed for 4 months and they still told me to continue doubling up rather than referring me elsewhere. once i was referred, i was put on a waiting list as an urgent referral and didn’t hear back by the date they had told me so i had to phone and i finally got an appointment, even though i was told i would be waiting until november. you HAVE to be your own advocate. please do not let them dismiss you. i’ve spent endless nights crying over this as my periods are extremely painful & heavy, which is why i was on the pill in the first place. i feel scared but also happy that i will finally be able to get some answers. i thank my friends, who i met on this app, who have been by my side throughout this whole process, who have comforted me and pushed me to advocate for myself, even when it was hard. please do not let any healthcare professional dismiss you. ♡
