1/ We’ve raised a $30M Series B led by @BainCapCrypto to build the open infrastructure that powers crypto’s next era.
This is a major moment for @turnkeyhq. For our team, our customers, and the entire space.
I spent 3 years working at @Coinbase building out the Custody product line, which grew from $0 → $100B+ in assets under custody.
looking back, a lot of the lessons I learned during those three years still shape how I think about growing and building Turnkey today.
EFFICIENT EXECUTION
for starters, Coinbase was an absolute execution machine. the pace was incredibly high, teams moved with urgency, decisions got made quickly, and there was always a strong bias toward shipping rather than overthinking every outcome. Brian has said before "Action produces information. Just keep doing stuff."
CLEAR COMMUNICATION
at the time, Coinbase was an organization of 3,000+ employees, and one thing that always stood out to me was how clear the communication was across different teams and departments. even at that scale, the entire team could recite the Mission, Vision, and Strategies. everyone understood what we were building, why it mattered, and what needed to happen next.
HIGH EXPECTATIONS
and lastly, expectations were incredibly high. not just the expectations placed on us, but the standards we held ourselves to every day. we knew we were building products that represented the entire crypto industry, and that meant constantly proving ourselves, raising the bar, and delivering at a level the industry expected.
very thankful for my time at Coinbase. a lot of Turnkey’s success today is directly to those lessons.
one thing we’ve been very intentional about at Turnkey is making our pricing work at every stage of a company’s growth. we price like an infrastructure company vs. taking a % of volume.
small teams can get started on our Pro plan at $99 per month.
larger enterprises moving serious transaction volume pay a fraction of a penny per signature.
we have the best engineers in the world building wallet infrastructure that scales with you from the first transaction to billions in volume.
if you’re building something interesting in crypto and need a partner that is:
- trusted by companies like Polymarket, Anchorage, Rain, Moonshot, and Modern Treasury
- built around secure isolated key management
- flexible across payments, trading and agentic use cases
- already powering millions of wallets and $200b+ in stablecoin volume
let’s talk.
every single crypto founder should be studying:
@moonshot @axiomexchange @pumpfun @fomo
these apps understand crypto consumer psychology better than anyone.
the common traits behind all four are:
- smooth onboarding
- simple intuitive UI/UX
- viral growth loops built into the product
- strong branding and marketing
- constant product iteration based on user behavior
- strong incentives to invite others
get these six things down and you’re already ahead of most of the market.
one thing enterprises massively underestimate when entering crypto is how much easier the infrastructure has become.
a few years ago, launching an onchain product meant stitching together wallets, signing, broadcast logic, chain support, and a bunch of other infrastructure. doing this securely is hard.
today, most of that can be abstracted behind a few APIs.
your users can onboard with familiar auth, wallets can be created in the background, transactions can be controlled with custom policies, and the entire crypto layer feels invisible.
you no longer have to show the guts of crypto, you can just build incredible financial products on crypto rails.
that’s a huge reason why we’re seeing more fintechs, payment companies, and enterprises move onchain.
the infrastructure is finally simple enough to integrate.
if you’re an enterprise company thinking through your stablecoin strategy, my DMs are always open. happy to chat through the most seamless way to integrate crypto into your existing stack.
Perfect start to the day - workout on top of the world with @NWischoff
and with that, another insane quarter at @turnkeyhq comes to a close
we officially crossed $200B in stablecoin transaction volume, just 9 months after crossing $100B.
the amount of money moving through our pipes has grown 4x YoY.
at the same time, we’re shipping faster than ever.
this month alone, we launched:
- cross-chain swaps
- onchain yield
- agent secret management
- Arc support from day one
and all of this sits alongside the stack we’ve already built across:
- stablecoin payments
- embedded wallets
- payment orchestration
- agentic wallets
- programmable signing + policies
- enterprise key management
what started as an idea to build better wallet infrastructure is becoming something much bigger.
we want Turnkey to become the layer behind how money moves onchain, whether it’s being moved by a consumer, enterprise, or even an AI agent.
we’re still so incredibly early.
one of my biggest goals over the last few years has been to make crypto onboarding feel completely frictionless.
just take a look at how far we’ve come (h/t @AlanaDLevin)
what used to require creating a wallet, saving a seed phrase, funding it, switching networks, and dealing with a ton of operational overhead has now been boiled down to a simple login flow.
we’ve made crypto onboarding 100x easier over the last few years.
there’s still so much work left to do, but every once in a while it’s worth taking a step back and appreciating how far we’ve come as an industry and how much easier crypto is to actually use today.
Instinct just raised a $1B Series C at a $10B valuation with only 14 employees.
we’re starting to see a fundamental change in how humans interact with the world. instead of opening apps and manually completing tasks ourselves, we’re increasingly giving agents context, intent and permission to act on our behalf.
one of the most interesting developments has been seeing people’s personal Instinct agents interacting directly with each other.
the obvious next evolution is agents being able to transact with one another.
if agents are going to coordinate and act autonomously, they’ll need proper infrastructure to support it.
which is why we’ve invested so much time and resources into building out our agentic product suite:
- wallets that agents can securely control
- granular permissions around what they can and can’t spend
- programmable transaction policies and limits
- authentication & identity
the next decade is going to look very different now that software can communicate, make decisions and move money on our behalf.
Has been an absolute pleasure working with the @Wealthsimple team. This is how defi goes mainstream!
Canada's first regulated crypto platform wanted to bring decentralized trading to retail without compromising UX.
By integrating Turnkey’s embedded non-custodial wallets, @Wealthsimple launched their new DEX wallet, expanding client access to a broader range of onchain assets.
sharing the full story of how I started Turnkey:
in 2022, i was working at Trade Republic, now the largest neobroker in Europe, where i led the launch of their crypto offering.
at the time, we were evaluating different wallet infrastructure providers and got on a call with one of the bigger names in the industry. the entire process was INSANELY slow.
there were weeks of back and forth, multiple calls, and we couldn’t even get sandbox access until we were deep into the sales process.
i remember leaving those calls thinking to myself that if crypto was actually going to become mainstream, this couldn’t be how developers built products.
wallet infrastructure needed to be:
- self serve & open
- built for developers & easy to integrate
- flexible across use cases
you shouldn’t need weeks of sales calls just to figure out if you a product is going to work for you.
so I realized there was a massive gap in the market. from there things happened fast. my co founder and I put together a deck (peep the old logo on the first slide) about building "Turnkey Wallet Infrastructure," shared it with a few friends to see what they thought, and a week later had a $7.5M term sheet for our seed.
that became @turnkeyhq.
today, we’ve grown into one of the leading wallet infrastructure providers for companies building crypto and stablecoin products.
if there was 1 piece of advice i could give to founders:
you don't need to lock yourself away to start a company. instead, pay very close attention to the things that frustrate you. if you keep running into the same problem with a vendor, product, or industry process, there’s a good chance others are dealing with it too.
if something feels broken, go build the better version.
Congratulations to the Atum team. @PeteCooling knows his stuff after driving crypto product at Visa. Excited for their push to make payments more open.
Turnkey 🤝 Atum
Welcome to Atum.
That’s what we tell every new partner when they first touch the network. And now we’re saying it to you.
Because today, @atumhq, the open payments network, a first of its kind, is live.
We picked the date intentionally. Today, September 22, marks the autumnal equinox (in the northern hemisphere), a threshold through which the world passes, from one season into another. Atum occupies a similar boundary: between light and darkness, chaos and order, ending and renewal. Atum, as a platform, is positioned at the transition from closed, institution-specific payment systems to an open, programmable network.
Atum is also the creator god symbol in ancient Egypt. Atum is the first, the primordial, and the originating god of creation.
Atum provides the basic building blocks for payments and commerce - the infrastructure, tooling, products and services that make money move the way it ought to.
Our team is comprised of leading payments and onchain experts from companies like @Visa, @coinbase, @chainlink, @CashApp, @tempo, and more.
It’s a new world for payments and commerce.
And it is my ultimate pleasure, passion, and life’s purpose to introduce Atum, the open payments network. We are so glad you’re here.
Welcome to Atum. We do it together.

Congrats to @psneville and the Catena team! Building a bank is hard, but building a bank for agents is even harder. Agents & programmatic transactions will eclipse human transactions, and we need the right guardrails in place for that eventuality.
Turnkey 🤝 Catena
Catena has received preliminary conditional OCC approval to establish a national trust bank.
We're building a trust bank for businesses whose AI agents use money, pairing programmable controls with custody and fiduciary responsibility.

bullish on stablecoins, agentic payments, programmable finance, and bringing the next billion users onchain.
will be sharing more of what we’re learning building Turnkey, thoughts on where crypto infrastructure is headed, and the occasional founder ramble.
if you’re building in crypto, fintech, payments, or AI, say hi :-)
Agents need secure credential management. Turnkey built just that.
Agents will transact, deploy code, access sensitive systems, and move money on our behalf. Giving them unrestricted credentials and hoping they follow instructions is not a viable security model.
The agentic economy needs machine-native controls: credentials kept out of model context, action-scoped permissions, cryptographically enforced policies, human approvals, and complete auditability.
We’ve spent years building these primitives at Turnkey and using them to secure millions of private keys. And of course, if you want your agent to pay over crypto rails, Turnkey already secures the wallet and enforces the policies governing what it can do.
Now we’re extending that infrastructure beyond crypto into an authorization layer for every place agents act.
If you’re building agents that need to take real-world actions, crypto or not, we want to work with you. Sign up to become a design partner or stay in the loop:

new thing we’ve been building at @turnkeyhq: agent auth.Â
agents need credentials to do useful work. right now this means giving them passwords, api keys, oauth tokens, even totp seeds. this gives the agent far more access than the action actually requiresÂ
for years, turnkey has secured millions of private keys using verifiable TEE infrastructure. underneath that is a generic system for credentials, auth and policies, with human and machine authenticators, consensus, temporary and revocable access, and a full audit trailÂ
now we are opening up these primitives for agent builders.

the end user keeps sovereignty over their credentials while giving builders a way to easily grant scoped access based on the action it needs to take.

a lot of agent builders are not thinking about security yet, but we think this becomes a critical product differentiator very soon. we want to make doing it correctly the easy path.Â
many of the pieces are already live:Â
•agents can retrieve encrypted secrets under programmable policies, including consensus and temporary or revocable access
•they can sign git commits and authenticate over ssh without holding the underlying private keys
•and of course if you want your agent to pay for things over crypto rails, turnkey already secures the wallets and enforces the policies for that too
what’s next: we’re looking for agent builders who want to help shape what comes next. reach out or sign up below

Watch this space đź‘€. Huge announcement from the Column team, congrats guys!
We started @column with the insane idea to rebuild every component of the financial system from scratch. Today, I think we've finally completed that build.
We're releasing four new products, so any technology company can build at the frontier of financial services.
