#pulavar text review Murukaiya’s ‘Pulavar’ is an interesting, experimental drama about crime and punishment Bharathiraja plays a retired cop named Meiyandavar, and as the name suggests, he is the “god of truth”, a man who can get confessions out of people suspected of a crime. But the way he does this sets him apart. Despite the abundance of lathi-sticks in his house, he does not believe in torturing suspects. And neither is he a man who depends on threats or heavy law books or truth-inducing medication. His idea is so basic that it’s radical. Many of these “criminals” are victims of social inequality – so if you treat them as your equal, maybe they’ll confess? ‘Pulavar’ is not perfect. It is patchy in places and the lack of a budget shows. But the eccentric mix of theatre and cinema, ideology and philosophy makes this one of the more interesting films of the year. galattaplus.com/murukaiyas-p…

#Pulavar is an investigative drama shot entirely inside a house where an aged retired police officer (Late Director #Bharathiraja) uses unique ways to interrogate four accused, who has committed a murder. There is no violence here, but it’s mind game and inflicting guilt which are the tools. Let me warn you that it is very slow and tests your patience but if you are in a mood for it, give it a try. Everyone has performed well and Writer/Director #murukaiya had a good message. @sameerbr @supertalkies

#Pulavar is an interesting investigative thriller, a brave new attempt from Dir. #Murukaiya , not seen so far in Tamil Cinema. Quite liked the way the story was presented 👍 Legendary Director #Bharathirajaa sir as a Retired Police officer extracting the truth from criminals in an unconventional manner is superb, with well performed supporting cast. Do watch in theatres from tomorrow 🙏 Congrats and best wishes to @sameerbr @supertalkies @WhiteNightEnt22 💐

#Pulavar [3.5/5] : A dark comedy/A different type of investigative thriller/drama.. Late Director #Bharathiraja as a Retired Police officer uses unconventional techniques to extract confession from offenders whom Police couldn't extract.. As always, he has performed naturally.. Good supporting cast.. Writer/Director @ravimurukaiya has made a simple, but thought provoking movie about the rich and poor.. In theatres from tomorrow.. 👍 @sameerbr @supertalkies @WhiteNightEnt22
