Post-1966, I actually don’t understand any objection to Harry Kane being England’s greatest. Bobbys Charlton and Moore of course have greater claims, but after that? Only Bellingham, Lineker and Gazza are in the convo #engcze

I get all the outrage from the fan base and Mudryk, if it goes through, is not Gakpo or Ndiaye. But also, we’re coming from 17th x2. Overall, midfield massively upgraded. Front line upgraded. Defence and GK maybe on a par or better. Good manager, up to him now. Taking it #COYS
Couldn't care less if it's a loan, going for Mudryk just because you've managed him before and he's "available" is terrible terrible recruitment We're doing a Ten Hag....

Jude Bellingham finished the World Cup with more swagger and main character energy than I’ve seen from any England player, ever. Imagine what he’s gonna be like after one or two seasons under Mourinho. Cannot wait

Stop the world. Jamie O’Hara has the moral high ground.

Tuchel was supposed to be the guy who got us over the line. In Atlanta, he saw the line and he shrank away from it. Sat back and invited Argentina on. Is that really all he's got?

Iconic. Not a chance England win this World Cup, but the Harry Kane naysayers from the past three tournaments are done 🤌
Harry Kane. Pure leadership. On and off the pitch. Image of the tournament so far for England. 👏🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The greatest English sportsman of his generation. This plus winning runs in two world finals. Plus huge narrative arcs from Bristol and his first World T20 final. Epic #BenStokes

Don’t buy this. Plenty in the England squad capable of picking a pass out of nothing. Harry Kane is a better passer of the ball than Wharton and Palmer, and as good as Trent. The reason England won’t win the World Cup is because their players aren’t as good as other teams.
Tuchel either looks a genius at the end of this World Cup or the most criticized. The reason England will probably win this World Cup is because Tuchel has prioritized physicality above almost everything else. This team is powerful, athletic, aggressive out of possession, and capable of overwhelming opponents through sheer intensity. In tournament football, that profile can take you very far because physical dominance can make the difference in tight knockout games. The reason England will probably not win the World Cup is the exact opposite. Tuchel has left behind some of the most unique creative profiles available to him (Palmer, Trent, and Wharton). Players who see passes others don’t, players who can slow the game down, manipulate space, and unlock stubborn defensive blocks. That may not matter against teams that want to play football. But when England eventually face a side sitting in a compact low block in a quarter-final or semi-final, they may run into a problem. Not every game can be won with intensity, running power, and athleticism. Today showed that. Sometimes you need a pause. Sometimes you need a player who can see the pass before everyone else sees it. Sometimes you need someone who can break a game open with one touch, one switch, one through ball, or one moment of imagination. The worrying part is not just that those profiles were left out. It’s that England don’t even have them on the bench. If Plan A isn’t working, there’s no Plan B with this kind of profile. Tournament football is often decided by fine margins. Physicality gets you into the fight. Creativity wins the fight when the opponent refuses to engage on your terms. That’s the gamble Tuchel has made. It could make him look like a genius, or it could be the reason England fall one step short again.
