today is national pandas/pans awareness day + I want to talk about it!! I was diagnosed with pandas at age 5. After having strep, my antibodies attacked a part of my brain, causing inflammation in my basal ganglia and a major change overnight. I woke up the next

morning saying my brain hurt. The infection resulted in OCD, anxiety, and minor tics (mostly when I’m relaxed or asleep). When I was diagnosed, there was so much skepticism around pandas. Now, there’s much more research being done.
