ALT In the clinical case: “Disseminated hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae causing endophthalmitis, and lung and liver abscesses”, the authors note that hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae was first described in the Asian Pacific Rim but is increasingly emerging in countries outside of this region, most often affecting those with diabetes.
