In DENVER, Colorado a 29-year-old marketing employee fired after arriving six minutes late got an unexpected opportunity for revenge the following morning when he discovered his former company had forgotten to renew its website domain.
The domain had expired overnight and was publicly available for just $14.99.
He bought it.
Management discovered the mistake after the company's website and email services stopped working and contacted their former employee demanding that he transfer the domain back.
Instead, he sent them a photograph of his termination notice with the section concerning punctuality highlighted.
Underneath, he wrote:
"Company policy is company policy."
