NASA flew the first "space drone" in 1997, AERCam Sprint. it was released during a spacewalk and, like most drones, it was remotely piloted. AERCam Sprint was a 35-lb, free-flying camera built to assist astronauts. photos: NASA. archival scan: UAH Archives.

the energy around Transporters is palpable. so many teams fired up for first flight! i hope we can quickly find ways to keep rideshares flying.
Up next, Falcon 9 will launch 130 payloads to orbit from California aboard the Transporter-18 mission. Liftoff is targeted for 11:22 a.m. PT → spacex.com/launches/transpor…

NASA has been building and flying space drones for years. my favorite is Seeker: "an automated extravehicular free-flying inspector CubeSat." Seeker was built at JSC in ~1-year for $1.8M. it launched on the Cygnus NG-11 mission and flew in Sep '19. Video: NASA/JSC

Seeker was small but capable. it had 6 DOF flight from 12 cold gas thrusters and a semi-autonomous GNC (humans were only in the loop to press "go"). it was built from all COTS sensors and could fly for up to an hour using only battery-power. Photo: NASA

Seeker lost control shortly after deployment but it's heritage lives on in NASA's R5 program (more on that coming soon!). learn more about Seeker here: nasa.gov/smallsat-institute/…

no i don’t mean quadcopters in space! i mean cheap, attritable cubesat-class vehicles that deftly and autonomously maneuver around space assets - for inspection and defense.

as we build bigger and more valuable infra in GEO and beyond, we'll need eyes and delta-v on demand. i'm convinced this is how deep space should work!

few things more inspiring than a small team tackling an unprecedented problem. very cool to see K2’s journey from idea to orbit! next up: dyson spheres!
In 2022, when we said we wanted to build giant satellites, people told us “No one is ever going to need satellites that large” and “Building satellites that large would be really difficult.” When we said that we wanted to call our company K2, for a Type 2 Kardashev civilization, people asked us “What is a Kardashev?” Fast forward four years and the Kardashev scale is now a mainstream concept, the entire market is moving bigger, and we just completed 100 days on orbit for our first giant satellite mission. This is the story of Gravitas, from @firstround

Turnkey is building the essential infrastructure for crypto wallets and verifiable computing. Their products will become even more critical as AI agents start transacting and stablecoins continue becoming a core payment rail. They're now powering 100M+ wallets, 1M+ daily transactions, and over $100B in stablecoin volume, across customers like World App, Polymarket, Axiom, and more. Let's go.
Thrilled to announce a $12.5M strategic investment to meet accelerating demand for crypto wallets and verifiable computing. With participation from @circle_ventures, @archetypevc, and existing investors @BainCapCrypto, @FactionVC, @galaxyhq, @sequoia, and @variantfund.

Ethereum Privacy, explained: Let me start by saying that privacy matters. We already understand this in the physical world: > You close the door when you are at home. > You close your curtains when you want space for yourself. > You cast your votes in private. > You choose who to trust with your stories and your life. These are the small acts that give us humans: > dignity > security > freedom This all exists IRL. But online, these protections often vanish. Every click, every message, every payment can become a data point. Every interaction can become a target. That is why privacy matters. It is not some weird mysterious thing for hackers and criminals, it is the very condition that allows us to live freely as more of our lives move into digital space. Now, Ethereum is civilizational infrastructure, it is a network where value, identity, and governance converge and remain neutral. It is trusted by individuals, by institutions, and increasingly by governments. If Ethereum is to carry the weight of this responsibility, privacy must become part of its foundation, and that is why the Ethereum Foundation is making it a core focus. Here is why Privacy matters to different groups. For people: privacy means you can prove you are eligible for a service, a vote, or a benefit without giving away everything about yourself. It means you can hold assets or send money without exposing your entire financial history. With Ethereum privacy, participation online does not mean sacrificing freedom. For developers: privacy opens a design space. It allows entirely new categories of applications like private voting, private governance, and private communication. It also makes today’s applications stronger. Without privacy, every interaction can become an attack surface. With privacy, developers can build systems that protect users and reduce the risks that come with handing over sensitive data to third parties. For institutions: privacy is operational security. An institution that runs payroll, settles trades, or manages credit onchain cannot risk leaking counterparties, strategies, or client information. Ethereum privacy allows them to fulfill regulatory requirements through proofs instead of raw data dumps, lowering the chance of a damaging breach. It also protects against frontrunning, premature liquidations, and reputational risk. In short, privacy makes Ethereum usable for serious capital. For society: privacy protects democratic processes. It strengthens pluralism. It builds trust in collective decision-making. In an era where artificial intelligence can consume and replicate our every move, privacy preserves personhood. It ensures that we remain agents of our own identities and not just raw material for someone else’s system. Privacy is not an edge feature or some scary thing for criminals. Privacy is for you, your neighbor, even their dog. It is a right. Privacy is civilizational infrastructure and because Ethereum is civilizational technology, privacy will become a core part of it.

2/ Ronin <> OP Stack The OP Stack is a set of open-source development tools anyone can use to build a Layer 2 on Ethereum. @coinbase used them to build Base. @krakenfx used them to build Ink. @uniswap is even using them to build Unichain. Over the coming months, Ronin will also use them to evolve from a sidechain to a full-fledged Ethereum L2. Here’s what this alliance will bring to our movement once the integration is complete 👇

OP Sepolia just got a LOT faster - we've integrated Flashblocks, built by the team at Flashbots, reducing effective block times from 2 seconds to 250 milliseconds.

Over the past few months, I've been building the kona-node along with my teammates on the Rust Team at @OPLabsPBC. Today, we are excited to officially release the first major version of the kona-node: an L2 consensus node also called a rollup node. blog.oplabs.co/introducing-t…

the Superchain's version of IBRL is "sub-second, sub-cent" (we like user-centric framing) and it's going well. we try to allocate at least 10-20% of our efforts to this roadmap at all times. next up: 10x latency improvements w/ Flashblocks + cheaper blobs w/ Pectra.

The moment has finally come. The endgame of the Ethereum scaling roadmap is nearly here. The Superchain is about to become fully interoperable and feel like a single cohesive chain. Velodrome will be the central trading and liquidity hub of the Superchain on Day 1.
Velodrome will be ready for Superchain interop on day one. Soon, one DEX will connect liquidity across many chains. Better trades. One interface. Zero slippage. That is the power of interop on the Superchain.
