Lambda School, the predatory, for-profit bootcamp, has changed its name a second time. It is no longer “The Bloom Institute of Technology.” It’s now “Aitra.”
After having been banned from direct student lending, they now target businesses.

Obviously any links to Blu*Sky will be demoted in your feed, so I’ll just say that Sandofsky.com is my handle there.
This year we're trying something different at Lux. Normally, I just edit Sebastiaan's annual iPhone review. This year, I made a review of my own!

Hundreds of universities are taking part in a grift. A for-profit company pays elite schools for their name, and students are tricked into signing up for a rebranded code bootcamp.

I finally wrote up the full story behind Lambda School, Silicon Valley’s disastrous foray into for-profit education.
I cover how it burned through $120 million, why Income Share Agreements failed, and how one developer-turned-journalist ended the fraud.

Introducing: Kino. Our take on pro video for iPhone.
Beautiful video made easy. One-tap cinematic color, perfect motion, and tons of pro features — great for film pros, but simple enough for the rest of us.
And... we have a few surprises:
Austen Allred, CEO of Lambda School, was just personally fined $100,000 for “Deceiving Students and Hiding Loan Costs,” and ordered to stop collecting from graduates. I think this saga is coming to a close.

Since May 2021, Student Defense has been taking action against Bloom Tech (formerly Lambda School) on behalf of students who were deceived.
Now, the company has stipulated to @CFPB Consent Order that Bloom Tech's Income Share Agreements are unlawful.

To clarify: existing Spectre users don’t have to do anything to activate the Pro features like 15-30s exposures. It’s unlocked right away!
There is a cosmetic and optional upgrade option in Settings to unlock a special icon if you’d like to support future development. ❤️

If I had Spectre before did I buy it? (Can’t remember) if so it’s not recognizing my previous purchase. But just for clarity do I need to upgrade to pro?
