Cardiac arrest to bottom of the draft to impact minutes in the NBA playoffs in less than 2 years. Would've had tv specials about his journey if he was anyone else besides LeBron James Jr

So they werenβt calling it a super team until a 41 yr old joined the team? #Noticing π€

"If LeBron's tenure with the Lakers was a failure then Joker's tenure with the Nuggets, Giannis' tenure with the Bucks, and Shai's tenure with the Thunder is a failure."
@colincowherd and @getnickwright on LeBron's legacy with the Lakers

Both LeBron & Wemby at 22 took down heavily favored teams with title winning cores in the Conference Finals. It's not a totally 1:1 comp since Wemby has a better team than LeBron did, and his Finals was much more up for grabs than LeBron's was, but regardless, both overachieved mightily even without a ring to show for their efforts.
Contrast this with Michael Jordan, who got his ass kicked until he had the best team & all the title teams from the 80's fell off. He won when he was expected to win, but unlike LeBron & Wemby, he never won when he was expected to lose, and I think there's something to be said for that.
