7-12x worse than Mt. Gox 😮. This will be an interesting one…

Just saw Nolan's Odyssey in the theatre. Sad to say, it was a waste of time and money. All I thought about was I can't wait until somebody else does this story justice.
But I thought Matt Damon and Tom Holland made the best of it.
Also, after recently seeing Spiderman: Brand New Day and the chemistry of Holland and Bernthal in the movie just put their roles and interactions in Odyssey to shame.
The soup dialogue of ancient and modern were horrendous. This is unlike a guy who directed The Dark Knight Rises and Inception.
Also, I was shocked to see Ellen Page not Ellen Page. I kinda had a crush on her in Juno and Inception. What happened?
I got blocked for the first time in X. (at least that I know of).
I feel kind of ‘hey that’s pretty cool, it never happened before’. But then I’m like: It was such an innocuous and even nice reply. I guess I triggered something in them. Then I looked at their profile. Was that my first experience with some woke cancel culture schnitzel witzel? Talk about me being late to the party…
“Don’t send your sons to finish what politicians start”
This soldier’s message should always be retweeted. Ever relevant again with the ongoing and new wars being started by politicos.
For additional context: In May 1969, U.S. 101st Airborne troops fought 10 brutal days and 11 assaults to capture heavily fortified Hill 937 in Vietnam’s A Shau Valley, suffering heavy casualties before finally taking it—only to abandon it days later because it had little strategic value.
It’s great that the “world” and even EU is making USB-C the standard charging plug but can the EU do something about their annoyingly bulky power outlets?! Can the EU also lead a standard power outlet design preferably the more streamlined versions of the US, Canada, Japan, Taiwan and parts of the Americas? While you’re at it, make it even more compact! @EU_Commission
Because right now this is my brick setup for EU outlets!! I feel like I’m charging an electric car. This is criminal! 😅
This needs more pondering in these kinds of times…
73% of women on the titanic survived.
Only 19% of men did.
Read that again.
Even the richest men alive, class, power, status, all useless when the ship started sinking.
Hierarchy collapsed.
Gender didn’t.
“Women and children first”
Not a suggestion.
A rule men didn’t break.
Men stood there.
No panic
No begging.
Just accepted it.
They didn’t ask:
“Do I know her?”
“Is she worth it?”
“Will she remember me?”
No one asked if it was fair.
No camera.
No applause.
No second chances.
Zero return.
Full cost.
Understand this:
When survival gets limited, a man’s life becomes negotiable.
Men like that built the world.
And today?
Masculinity gets mocked.
Call it whatever you want.
But when everything collapsed, men paid first.
This isn’t opinion.
This is history.
I love Prague but it’s unfortunate that like many big European cities (at least ones I’ve been to), many of its beautiful architecture and buildings are covered with graffiti. It’s everywhere and it’s hard to unsee or ignore.
Ironically, the US which made graffiti / tagging / street art popular seems to have dramatically curbed this public nuisance. As an example, a similar symbolic beautiful park like in this video would only be this vandalized back in the 70s or 80s New York or Philadelphia but not these days.
But this is modern day Prague / Europe! It’s probably the same reason most if not all cafes/restaurants require purchase for toilet use. Even the malls and some parks require you to pay for using the toilet! Probably because of vandalism!
I feel like this is such a tragedy and fixing this problem may go a long way in fixing many social issues that stem from this ugly vandalizing culture. Why is Prague or many cities in Europe not doing enough or anything about this? European cities are so beautiful and removing these vandalism would make it 100x or more beautiful.
Three of my friends and I were supposed to get a tattoo together back when I was a young lad. However, they were all 18+ and I just happened to be months short of turning 18. The tattoo guy wouldn’t give me a break. My friends all proceeded except for me. I was kind of sad and felt left out.
Many years came and gone that I still wanted one but it never pushed through. Now I’m so happy that I never got inked especially when I see almost everyone now has a tattoo. I’m happy to have been left out.
And tattoo on women is 👎 especially if their skin is already beautiful as is. Don’t ruin it! I hope this trend dramatically reverses at some point…
Airplane stuck on Doha’s tarmac waiting in line to take off for at least 30 mins. Temperature outside is desert, probably around 55-65C. Temp inside the aircraft is getting really warm. On ground AC is weak. Windows have no shade. And almost everyone is fanning themselves to stay cool as temp inside the plane is steadily rising.
Captain announced we “hope” to take off in 10 minutes, 20 minutes ago…This kind of situation can get very dangerous quickly especially to the young children on board. Why even expose us to the desert tarmac if the wait time is unpredictable?
The footnote says Literacy < 1: understands only simple sentences and basic, familiar words.
As an example, they can understand "Stop", "Exit" when they see it. They can read very short phrases like "No smoking". They don't understand, for example, a multi-step instruction like: “In the event of fire, do not use the elevator; proceed calmly to the nearest emergency exit.”
I'm looking at USA's Literacy < 1 and it's almost on par in terms of earnings with UK's Literacy 3 group
What happened to the UK?
