Retired from my desk job, I’ve been reading old work, updating shit, preparing for god knows what. Rereading this short story published in 2016 by Curiosity Never Killed the Writer, I thought: “This is the best thing you’ve ever written about America.” curiosityneverkilledthewrite…

This book was mysterious—some ideas progressive, some conservative. Weil explored countervailing forces & found a sort of equilibrium through paradox. Mystical stuff. Five stars for making me a more resolute agnostic.
Simone Weil on the east shore of Tahoe. On forgiveness, she infers that we think we know people on some imaginary track but don’t; same with ourselves. This otherness points to a liberatory void where grace can enter, beyond the imbalances and harms of social relations.

Reading my daughters Moby Dick, learning a lot about whales and existential terror. I haven’t read it for many years, and it kind of holds up 😀

Tight household budget, much funding directed to groceries & gas. My book budget is nonexistent. I’m sorry, a lot of new books I want. In the future, after I set up my male escort service, I will be rolling in cash & buying thousands of books 🙌

I’m also not above charity. If there is a book that you feel adamantly I need to read, please get my address and send it to me with a lovely note.

I was joking about escorting. Kind of.

Voting early this week. First time my spouse, an immigrant, voted as a U.S. citizen was in 2016. I had told her that guy wouldn’t win. She cried that election night. Ten years later, same guy but even greater stakes 😬

This conversation between Mandira and Koss produced tons of info for writers 👀
“What is coming, every trauma, every joy, every sorrow, every mundane event, is continually slipping away into its goneness. And in the goneness lies a residual grief.” @MandiraPattnaik interviews writer/artist Koss for a wide-ranging conversation trampset.org/post/macro-mind…
