so much real estate in a four-year program. Ideally a number of these texts would have been studied in high school but it’s not exactly their fault that that’s not likely. The trade-off though of helping students catch up on pre-modern foundations is that there’s not enough

Agreed. I think the main issue is it’s remedial, i.e. it tries to approximate a broad classical education that traditionally would have begun much earlier in one’s education but can longer be assumed. So it basically has to introduce the liberal arts from scratch and there’s only

lol I didn’t give up exactly, I just never read them as a kid so I only got around to them when reading to my own kids. We did the first couple but drifted to other things. I do want to get back to them at some point!
