WSJ: "Polymarket paused trading on its website Thursday after some users of the prediction-market’s platform said their accounts had been drained of funds. The source of the issue was a security flaw in DebugBear, a performance-monitoring vendor used on Polymarket’s website, according to a person familiar with the matter.... A wallet belonging to a suspected attacker appeared to show more than $2.5 million in funds drawn from Polymarket user accounts, according to a Wall Street Journal review of wallet activity. The money was transferred in more than 900 transactions... [Polymarket] assured that traders who lost money would be 'made whole.'"

FanDuel joins DraftKings in removing such event contracts.
The felony charges brought against Kalshi this week seem to have spooked others in the industry.
Our story will be updated to reflect this shortly.
Utah filed felony charges against Kalshi and its two cofounders, marking a significant escalation in the fight over prediction markets in the state.
If convicted on all counts, the cofounders could face up to 75 years in prison.

Chip Kelly doesn't think coaching is about creativity, but solving problems. He's more archivist than mad scientist. This fall, he's going deep into his bag - for the Wing T and other throwback schemes - to revive Northwestern's offense.

This is f*cking insane. SpaceXAI engineer Lauren Tan (ex-Cursor):
"99% of people use GrokBot for 1% of what it can do. They run one agent without /loops + /graphs
I run a team of 65+ GrokBot agents. By 9 a.m. my Chief of Staff has the day planned, my PM has handed out the work, and the workers have shipped half of it"
In this 1-hour session, SpaceXAI engineer shows how to build that team from scratch
GrokBot → Chief of Staff → PM → Workers → /Loops → Self-Improving Team
A /loop sends every task back until it actually works
A /graph lets one agent hand its result to the next without you in the middle
Anyone can ask GrokBot a question, almost nobody gives it a team to run
Worth more than most $2250 agentic engineering courses
Watch it today
Then read the article below on building your own self-improving GrokBot system ↓

We were concerned that the SAT has become a less reliable measure of student preparedness for a rigorous college curriculum.
So, we commissioned a study from Johns Hopkins University. What does this study tell us about the state of higher education?
The results are shocking. thaq.co/4iLThZ0

2 years removed from contributing to Michigan’s 2023 national championship as a freshman, Semaj Morgan had plateaued.
“I lost my love for football.”
Since transferring to UCLA, Morgan’s regained that passion, helping the Bruins to a 7-0 start.

okay yeah i bought the rian johnson photo app. be prepared to be so sick of me LOOK AT HOW IT HANDLES LIGHT AND CONTRAST
So I recently badgered my cinematographer @steveyedlin into making my ideal iPhone still camera app. It shoots RAW, bypasses the iPhone's look processing and instead uses the same image processing we use on our movies. apps.apple.com/app/apple-sto…

Today we’re announcing the $600M Formation Bio Drug Development Accelerator Fund.
@lintaho and I started @FormationBio because we believed the biggest bottleneck in bringing new medicines to patients wasn’t drug discovery, but drug development.
As AI dramatically accelerates discovery, that bottleneck is only becoming more acute. Without the capital and capacity to advance promising drugs through clinical trials, much of that progress won’t translate into medicines for patients.
Our new Fund brings together dedicated capital, drug development expertise, and AI-powered development capabilities to acquire promising drugs and advance them through the clinic.

In 1992, current Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy found himself seated next to Muhammad Ali.
So he asked him: "Where did all the bragging come from? Were you always like that?"
Ali leaned over and said quietly:
"I was scared to death."
Three decades later, Murphy just led the Milwaukee Brewers to a World Series championship.
That Ali quote stuck with him, he realized:
"We all are (scared). Who we kidding. Fear is part of it. If you learn to use it like fire, it can do a lot of great things. If you don't, it can burn your house down."
Too often, we walk around with this idea that the best performers aren't scared. That they are relentless, alphas, who bulldoze through whatever they're feeling.
It's BS. The greatest of all time felt fear. We all do. The point is how do we navigate and channel it. Feeling fear and knowing what to do with it are different things.
For much of his early career he coached the other way entirely: hard, blunt, and, by his own account, driven by his focus on himself. He had real success with it, until he was forced to resign as a college coach in 2009.
Then he went through a litany of minor league jobs.
Along the way, with help from journaling and counseling he started to fundamentally change how he coached. One of the catalysts was becoming a parent.
"And I started thinking about it like, every kid I coach is somebody's Kai Joseph. You know what I mean? Every kid I coach, they have parents who love their kid the way I love my kid...
Wow, I've got to be a little mindful how I treat these guys."
He eventually landed on a different definition of success:
"This profession isn't about the wins and losses. This profession is about, how do I impact this person?"
You can see that switch in how he's guided the Brewers to become the best team in baseball. It was there when he didn't go to his closer in a save opportunity, as Trevor Megill said, "We’re not here for egos, we’re here to win a ring.”
It's there in his coaching philosophy for the team: He calls it love and discipline. In that order...not too dissimilar from how you parent...
The Brewers are the World Series Champions.
They did it with a closer who checked his ego, a first baseman nearly retired but returned for health insurance, and a manager who had to let go of the way that led him to early success and rebuild how he coached.
In the actual arena, performance is messy. It's not the cheap slogans we're sold online.
We're all afraid, even the greats. You have to figure out how to direct it. You have to care, but not so much that it feels life and death. You need discipline, but it's got to be founded on love.
And sometimes you need a 67 year old coach who was a tyrant, let go, and had to find a new path...to lead a small market team to the top of the MLB.
