So for the fans that say Podkolzin is just someone on a line with McDavid or Draisital & that anyone can play there. I want to remind you how long it took for the Sedins to find a guy like Burrows so many different players tried & failed. It takes an immensely talented player to play with such high end skill.

Podkolzin’s offseason work continues to pay off. His skills coach, Ned Lukacevic, sent me these videos of Podkolzin working on “Hyman-like drills.” And then, fittingly, Podkolzin did his best Hyman impression with his first-period goal on the power play.
