We want young people who can understand the world, think critically, form meaningful relationships, recognize opportunities, solve problems, and make good decisions. We want them to be capable of directing their own lives and contributing to the lives of others.
Knowledge is essential to accomplishing those things. But knowledge is a means, not the ultimate objective.
The goal of education should be developing capable human beings with the agency to put their capabilities to work.

Sir Patrick Stewart could command the Enterprise, perform Shakespeare and make an audience laugh about his own eulogy. This Just for Laughs clip captures his magnificent voice and wonderfully mischievous humour. zurl.co/POSaM

You shouldn't need the best network to get the best insights.
SuperMe is ow in group chats, Claude and ChatGPT.

Every libertarian I know says “End the Fed” and just hopes everyone else just understands.
They don’t. @ComicDaveSmith explains it perfectly

If you’re a technical, ambitious founder in Austin for Tech Week, I’d love to meet you.
I write $500K pre-seed checks and know where to get the best bbq and tacos in town.

The Beatles’ “Let It Be” has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify. Written by Paul McCartney and released in 1970, the song features Billy Preston on organ and remains one of the band's most enduring recordings.
With the invention of fire, Oog's fellow cavemen went nuts.
"Ban it!" some said. "Regulate it!" said others.
The elders of the cave sat around that very fire, endlessly grunting about what to do about this invention that hurt to touch.
That night, Oog roasted some stegosaurus over the flames, and the cave rejoiced.
By morning, only smoldering coals remained. Unfortunately, nobody had yet figured out how to extinguish a fire.
The cave, after much deliberation, reached a historic decision: for the good of the village, fire would henceforth be permitted only at night, only when operated by Oog, and only in the far corner of the cave.
The following night, everyone slept soundly beneath their paintings of bears and elk. Lightning struck the mouth of the cave. The grass caught fire. Then the leaves they'd been using as toilet paper. Then the furs Uga had painstakingly arranged across the floor in what would have later been recognized as the world's first Persian rug.
Within minutes, the entire cave was ablaze. Oog alone barely survived, badly burned.
Alas, nobody had yet invented common sense. Rather than experiment with fire, learn to control it, and teach everyone how to use it safely, at least Oog survived.

Founders from overlooked places tend to be capital efficient because there never was another option.
I know of literally no one with any sophistication who would claim being a tech city. It's an ignorant statement of anywhere and an odd flex to assert the appeal of your city is that you're good at technology over other things that really matter to people.
New York City is the perfect reminder that culture, art, and the collision of different people, is what really fuels entrepreneurship
It isn't Tech and it isn't Capital. If you want startups to thrive, create the ecosystem that serves entrepreneurs. – at Manhattan, NY
