Some post Blizzcon WoW thoughts:
Holly's outfit was an absolute banger and Ion looked great! Happy to see him in a good mood. Loved the toe joke and the shoutout to Liquid - This can be!
In general, I found the first panel rather underwhelming and just... meh. The no TLT reveal soured the mood for me big time and the whole thing felt very... awkward? Both before and after. I didn't notice much reaction from the crowd (on stream) and they seemed almost confused at times if they should react, or how to react. Some of the presenters seemed very nervous on stage, bless them. <3
There were a couple of additions that made the reveals better however, so it is not all gloom and doom. It was more of a "No news means no bad news to be sad about".
Some more thoughts:
- I would love the Forever lighting system on Retail WoW
- I got more Retail than Classic vibes from the Forever cinematic
- Skyborne elves are an odd, very out of nowhere choice for me. There were bunch of other races people really wanted. It was the biggest W evasion of the century in my opinion, but I suppose we will see what they cooked for them in time
- The Realm System of Forever is peak, especially for RP reasons. However if it were to come to Retail one day, the clash of "EU-NA RP cultures" might be very chaotic to live through
- The horizontal progression sounds very interesting and I am definitely going to play this version of WoW
- The Talebound game mode seems interesting - some long wanted classes could be explored there/trialled along with cool cosmetic rewards.
- WOTLK Remix sounds great! However, I quietly wished for SL Remix funnily enough.
- Transmog armor restrictions lifted is a huge W in my books as there are many mogs anyway that look nothing like their actual armor type, so might as well just get the restrictions away
- Nelf paladins finally!
- The upcoming Housing updates are all great!
- I can already guess how Midnight ends, so the Xally cinematic wasn't anything big for me.
I think that is it? If I want to be completely honest, my biggest concern was that they will reveal Azeroth who looks like a Harranir... which thankfully did not happen (yet).
