I find this extremely fascinating. Does this translate to forms of design in other media? Why is the movie poster with the two leads staring at each other a stereotype? Does a thumbnail need to be a visual checksum for the contents of your video?

As a Magic video editor, I have a minor obsession with the topic of gameplay thumbnails. Specifically, THE thumbnail. You know the one I'm talking about. Four people. Four Commanders. A logo. At this point, I can barely tell videos apart from each other, so here's a quick 🧵:

Per Project I have been messing with since leaving 🚀. Game Notifier - Get SMS messages when folks start playing specified games on Twitch. github.com/sgowell/game-noti… I did this specifically to track the @onemrbean game #ChoiceChamber, but it works for any title in the IGDB.

Something random that popped into my head today. TaleSpin used the same voice actors playing the leads as Kissyfur. And those characters are a father and son who run a delivery service. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiss…

So apparently imax theaters ran off of palm pilots for the quick turn reel unit. And nowadays, rather than having it run off a microcontroller or PC or raspberry pi or iPad, they just run a palm OS emulator? Lmao

Can we use time travel to find out the deck lists for the Doctor Who licensed commander sets? No, but we can have AI make a reasonable guess. chat.openai.com/share/bfa9e5…

I think this a great use case for Augmented Reality? When real estate is at a premium, context is king.
