"Staff sickness a major factor behind critical incident". If your system can't handle some staff calling in sick without catastrophically failing, that's mismanagement. bbc.com/news/articles/cwly32…

What have I done to upset you @oasis. Might take it just a little bit personally if I don’t get a code again this year 🤣🙏 Although got to Murrayfield in the end #biblical

FOI detailing how much PEF funds were used in Glasgow secondary schools last year. Some of the schools in poorest regions only used half their funding to close the attainment gap last financial year. And @GlasgowCC have £2.5 million rolled over to this year sitting in bank. I asked for FOI as parents can be declined school spaces due to needing to employ another teacher. It may be funds cannot be used to employ teachers but would imagine @scotgov gives the funds with intention of being spent rather than accruing interest. Would hope councillors in these regions ensure schools are able to use the resource for pupil attainment #glasgow whatdotheyknow.com/request/s……

People like John make the world go round. Have donated here a few times and anytime I do, I leave with a sick knotted feeling in my stomach. Not because of the volunteers who are amazing but because the poverty and inequity that many are living in is visible and is heartbreaking to witness. As a society we should do better by those facing struggles - we don’t always “see it” as we go about our own day to day lives but it’s always there. Any Glasgow pals/colleagues who can donate, please consider here.

Good luck! And well done on being brave enough to challenge. This, and the recent headlines about the response to horrible social work case absolutely affirms my impression of the organisation (which is not in a positive light).
UPDATE🧵- I have asked Audit Scotland to independently investigate Glasgow City Council to ascertain: Were senior officers gathering or coordinating adverse material about me because of my scrutiny as an elected councillor? 1/

Taking my “next level boredom” to a deeper level by reposting 🤣 Interesting discussion on another social media platform shows many Glasgow parents have had similar challenges this year with process. @GlasgowCC

@GlasgowCC complaints handling is as appalling as their ability to follow statutory process. I had school placing request appeal for son - based on attending feeder primary since nursery, practicing catholic at local parish, siblings in nearby school and education needs. (Thread) As part of this, I submitted FOIs that to this day 4 months later are still incomplete and breached - Statutory failure 1. In lead up to appeal, I tried to communicate over 60 times for info and got no response other than it’s passed on. When I did get some FOI info, there were several issues. It appeared inaccurate - @GlasgowCC had provided different numbers in FOI to what was provided to the appeal panel and still haven’t given me an explanation as to why the numbers where different. Stat failure 2. In the statutory hearing, I was told that this question and the question of whether late applications were considered couldn’t be answered as I had submitted a complaint. Many other questions went unanswered which I will publish in due course also. Stat failing 3. @glasgowcc still haven’t disclosed to me why there are differences in numbers and if late applications were received and accepted despite verbal and written requests to do so @glasgowcc took 2 months to get sons education records to me as part of SAR. They breached deadline despite repeated ask of us to get it. We did not have it for our hearing. Stat failing 4. They finally ask us to resubmit as he had then turned 12 (correct legal process) @GlasgowCC I discovered one of my panel members had slogans on social media that had POTENTIAL sectarian connotations. I asked how they assured impartiality and what training do panel members have. They do not think this is a problem and are confident there is no Not everyone agrees in schooling according to religion so no hate please. It is important to my family. Anyone entering statutory hearing should be able to without anxiety of prejudice. These posts raise concern for me, and think it would for many Catholics. @ArchdiocGlasgow I did not want individual sanctioned and haven’t named them as such but asked @glasgowcc to review process for vetting and social media training. They have not acknowledged it but explained it is not upheld. @GlasgowCC have not acknowledged my son was excluded from school activities due to failure of their process. He was asked to attend school alone for 2 days whilst peers attended high school. He was also excluded from public tie ceremony. No mention in complaint response @GlasgowCC I believe the above exclusion fails in dignity at school policy and also fails in UNCRC. Your QIO assured me he was interested in resolving this but you have ignored it completely in complaint.@MairiMcAllan @GlasgowCC complaints response also took too long. I submitted complaint 6th June. I received a call to arrange a meeting to discuss on 26th June after I emailed QIO about issues. We met 9th July and I received response yesterday after chasing up. Failed process 5. @glasgowcc don’t uphold the part of my complaint regarding poor communication citing they responded to emails on 11th June from day before. They have answered complaint about communication that happened AFTER complaint received - that is not normal by anyone standards. Despite pointing out the failings in the complaint response including referencing events AFTER the complaint received, and failure to even mention other parts upheld or not, @glasgowcc have advised that the process is complete I have therefore been in touch with the @ArchdiocGlasgow, my MSP @haughey_clare, the cabinet secretary for education @MairiMcAllan. I will also submit to SPSO and ICO. @GlasgowCC @theSNP. @PaulJSweeney @GlasgowCC I have no personal gain from this. We had space offered in June - 1 day after instructing lawyer. You should not get to gaslight public and repeatedly fail on statutory process. I only wanted apology and review of how process could be improved for others

A new FOI request - I wonder if @GlasgowCC will be able to answer within statutory time limits. I am interested to see if my experience was unique - I don’t think it is as another parent reached out to me for help during her appeal for similar issues whatdotheyknow.com/request/f…

@scotgov @ScotGovEdu tagging for good measure. Don’t anticipate anyone will reply but keeping the views up

@CeeGraham1 you are an elected official (appreciate not in my region) and an elected member who sat on my panel bearing witness to the process failings. You are not the person I refer to above. You are head of education committee and a champion of equality, it would be appreciated if you had a take or were willing to meet to discuss

In addition to this, in one of the FOIs, they also told me that 2 appeals had been heard prior to the date of mine and neither were successful. They published this information publically on whatdotheyknow.com and despite me highlighting on several occasions they are breaching GDPR to publish n of 2 relating to a small area in east end Glasgow, they have not removed it. They don’t think are breaching GDPR.

Major good news story from NPID audit. In E&W, pregnancy specific HCL was associated with lower HbA1c, 13% lower preterm birth rate and ~ 20% lower rates of LGA in T1DM and pregnancy. The type of pump matters!

The best bit - rates of major congenital anonaly, stillbirth and neonatal death at lowest rates since records began. Patients and teams are changing lives together. Hopefully @theSNP @scotgov will reflect and reverse their decision to cut insulin pump uplift funding to NHS.

Thank you @PaulJSweeney. I don’t know how much your contact played a part, alongside my unfailing persistence. @GlasgowCC finally sent me SOME data. Still in breach as have missed 2026 data that I explicitly asked for and have not given explanation why. Still no SAR at 26 days.

@GlasgowCC in amongst a 24hr oncall & working today, you’ve left me no time to interrogate it as I would like. Was that really error, Thankfully, my training has equipped me to function on no sleep. I look forward to your response to my complaint. I have a date with excel

@theSNP @haughey_clare would be very interested in SNP opinion. I was a longterm SNP voter but in view of the mal administration and perceived incompetence on this case by the SNP-led service, my voting patterns will change. I don’t think the council leader has X. #FOI
