The more time I spent working with spatial data and building maps etc, the less I hate Shapefile, at least as an input format. Yes it has limitations. But it is easy to work with, quite compact, and has very wide support and industry knowledge.

😂 I did work with .shapefile in 2017-18 for a project & was amazed by its level of detail. Political boundaries down to the Zip code. Not sure how to marry mining boundaries with shapefile but if you do you've got a plug & pay business.
