honestly wish there was a lot more praise for the specific language sabrina incorporates into her songs. phrases/terms like β€œme espresso,” β€œcome right on me, i mean camaraderie,” β€œbye, it’s me. howsmm call. do you me still love?” etc. it’s clever and unique to her

i think this is why people have recently tried to explain that writing fun pop songs that work can be harder than writing ballads. you want them to be catchy, to incite conversation. and sometimes that means using a phrase that seems so simple and yet no one has used it before
