i disagree with the # part.
yes doing a billboard about an online smear campaign is 100% NOT a good idea and instead it should be either about her SHOF induction or 20 years of her debut.
BUT, the whole smear campaign IS real! itโs been happening for so long and weโve been ignoring it and celebrating Taylor ALL THE TIME, but that literally wonโt stop it, and neither will the hashtag obviously but at least weโre spreading the truth and raising awareness about whatโs actually happening. hundreds of hateful posts about taylor go viral across all social media platforms every week, whether they were bots or real people. so whatโs the harm in making ONE hashtag about how weโre standing with her amidst all these hate trains and getting it to number 1? thatโs literally the least we can do and it might help people realize how messed up this industry is and how itโs targeting her
obviously i stand with taylor, we all do.
taylor knows that and i promise sheโs okay.
there is no need for a hashtag or a billboard against a smear campaign. you mean well, but the problem is only going to increase now that youโve brought attention to it. now more people will want to get involved.
if you want to support taylor, why not celebrate her recent major accomplishments and achievements? she just became the youngest person inducted into the nashville songwriterโs hall of fame in her first year of eligibility. her debut album just turned 20 years old. donโt move on from these things, that is how you can show taylor you care.
also, the internet isnโt the real world. there are so many real world problems that need addressing. imagine if swifties used this same energy on bigger issues. for example, why donโt you encourage people to vote? the united states midterms are less than a week away and you have the power to make a change.
please do something productive with your time is all iโm asking.
