Great to see @JerseyLibrary's exhibition of former Chief Librarian, Ash Dickinson's work feature in today's @JEPnews. Ash and his wife Eva were deported to Germany in 1942, returning to the island in 1945. #Liberation80 #LiberationDay

Lovely memories of going to these years ago when my daughters were performing as part of their school contingent
Oh what a night! Fab to see @ScottsPark_Sch, part of @orion_education, at the @OfficialBYMT School Proms at @FairfieldHalls in Croydon this week with @alexjackman. Wonderful performance as an orchestra and as part of the massed choir! #AnOrchestraInEverySchool

"Having fun isn't hard when you've got a library card!" Happy World Book Day! In school, I've dressed up as American cartoon Arthur referring to his library card song!
Reading can bring so much joy but a survey found that 4 in 10 adults hadn't read a single book in the past year (though it does means 6 in 10 adults do read). Why do you think so many adults don't read for pleasure?
Reading books changed my life. My dad used to take me and my brothers to East Ham library every Saturday afternoon.
I was UK libraries champion (predecessors Stephen Fry & Mary Beard) and currently ambassador for charity Reading Agency.
