I had a similar experience as a student nurse. Ward sister said she hoped I would never be her nurse. It didn't get the desired effect. I repeated exactly what she said. She didn't know how to respond and walked away! She propelled me to finish my nurse training!😜 #NoStoppingUs
Can’t stop thinking about something a medical student told me this week. A cardiologist told her that he hoped she would ‘never be his doctor’. She said she cried for the rest of the morning. Her ‘crime’ was not using the textbook he recommended to study.

Nearly a third of nurses (30%) are struggling to pay food costs according to hardship survey from @CavellTrust More than 1 in 10 (14%) using food banks Around 1 in 4 struggling to pay for essential clothing (22%) & heating (28%) Shocking figures being presented at #RCN22

‘Black and brown nurses more likely to be allocated to work on the frontline’ says one nurse in a film shown in #RCNcongress2022 fringe talk on racism & the pandemic. Another says her A&E was divided into red/green areas but it was the black nurses who were put into the red area

I was speaking to friend yesterday who told me about her 7year old daughter experiencing racism at school only year 2. The 1st time it happened she approached the teacher, the 2nd time she wrote directly to the head and the school governors that she would be taking action should – at Brent, London
