I facilitated a session on Climate Science & Misinformation at Kabalega Resort, Nyamasoga, Hoima District.
Climate change is already shaping conversations around our farms, water, livelihoods, ecosystems and communities. But as the conversation grows, so does the amount of information and misinformation we encounter. The challenge is not simply knowing more about climate change. It is knowing what to believe, what to question, and where to find credible evidence.
One thing stood out for me: community experience matters. People in Hoima and across Uganda are observing changes around them. Those observations deserve to be heard. But they also need to be tested against evidence and reliable climate information. Because misinformation does more than confuse people. It can influence the decisions we make about our livelihoods, preparedness and future.
The solution is not to dismiss people's experiences, but to create a culture where we can ask better questions, examine the evidence and have honest conversations.
Climate action begins with informed decisions.
Observe. Verify. Act.
And in an age of overwhelming information, perhaps the most important climate skill is simply this, Learn to question before you share.

We had a fruitful dialogue with the community members of Buliisa and one thing is for sure . Tree planting is important because trees absorb carbon dioxide and give us oxygen. Trees are very important for the community if we are to recover from the climate crisis @shetechtive

Did you know that as more people use digital platforms for education, business, activism, and social engagement, Technology Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) continues to rise, particularly targeting women and girls through cyberbullying, online harassment, image-based abuse, stalking, and intimidation. 📲
Yet, national and international laws and policies such as the AU-CEVAWG, still limit recognition of the same. Existing legal frameworks, including the Computer Misuse Act, remain insufficient in addressing the evolving realities of online abuse.
Through the #TFGBV Campaign, FIDA-Uganda continues to advocate for safer digital spaces, stronger protections, survivor-centered responses, and increased public awareness on online gender-based violence. 💻
