"On the last day of the Chilgok Nakdong River Peace Event, right before the performance started, I received a message that my grandmother was in critical condition.
After finishing the stage, I rushed back to Seoul and visited my grandmother, who was in the intensive care unit (ICU).
When the doctor told me that her condition was very poor and that I should prepare myself mentally, it felt like the world was collapsing. Even after returning to my military unit, I have been going through a difficult time.
I am incredibly sorry that I couldn't explain the situation to you beforehand, and with a cautious heart, I am sharing my story with konics now.
For me, who was raised by my grandmother's hands, she is in every single one of my childhood memories.
She was more full of love than anyone else, possessed the warmest heart, and was always a reliable pillar of support in my world.
Now, the time has come to let my grandmother go. Although it is still hard to accept this reality, I did my absolute best to stay by her side and guard her path on her final journey.
I am carefully leaving this message because I do not want to cause any more worry to the many people who might be concerned about me.
Now, I will return to Sergeant Kim Dong-hyuk of the 52nd Division Military Band and faithfully serve out the remainder of my military service.
