We probably all knew about China’s advances in this area, but I - for one - had not realised that the share coming from the US is no longer any greater than what’s produced in Europe (even excluding U.K.)

Important story from @HirokoTabuchi in the NY Times this morning. A propane trade group is running a multi-million dollar ad campaign to convince people heat pumps are bad and fossil fuels are good. They are paying HGTV influencers who aren't disclosing their funding.

Last night I captured an incredibly difficult shot: ISS transiting the moon, while gently kissing Tycho crater as it flies by at 5 miles per second. That crater is 53 miles wide, so while the station almost looks like it's orbiting the moon it's actually 1000x closer to us.

I present to you, some images that Midjourney created from some scientific paper titles. I think maybe this should be required with every paper submission to a journal. Let's see some of your favorites!

Just a wild year in space. Webb actually worked. NASA smashed into an asteroid. We returned to the freaking Moon. OneWeb launched on a Falcon. BE-4s are 4 real. Starliner soared. SpaceX launched five dozen times. Ingenuity flew on and on and on. Can’t wait to be dazzled in 2023!

Talking to parents who lost the entire contents of their Google accounts because of their children’s nudity freaked me out because I could easily imagine the same thing happening to me. So I collected all my data from tech companies’ digital basements. nytimes.com/2022/12/31/techn…

Why do I continue to work at Twitter? First, some backstory… I was the technical co-founder of Pownce, a social network and early competitor to Twitter. Here’s a video of 25-year-old me talking about Pownce (ht @jdlasica and @seeMOUSErun). vimeo.com/1239783
