General Inquiry About MVC:
1. What are the advantages of having a side chain on Bitcoin?
Side chains like MVC (MicroVisionChain) offer a plethora of advantages over layer-two solutions like Bitcoin Lightning. Here's why:
1) Seamless User Experience:
MVC, short for MicroVisionChain, is akin to Bitcoin's long-lost twin. It shares the same underlying architecture as Bitcoin, which means the same mnemonic phrases and receiving addresses can be used across both. This significantly reduces the learning curve and enhances user-friendliness.
2. Asset and Ecosystem Compatibility:
MVC and Bitcoin share an identical structure and quantity of satoshis, enabling a 1:1 mapping relationship. It allows for the smooth transfer of Ordinals NFT/FT from Bitcoin to the MVC network. The asset mapping approach is a better solution than the traditional layer2 wrapped asset approach. Plus, all Bitcoin ecosystem applications, like wallets and NFT markets, can easily add support for MVC without requiring extensive additional development.
3. Security [A double security guarantee]:
MVC's mining algorithm is the same as Bitcoin's, using SHA256. After launch, MVC garnered substantial support from Bitcoin miners, with MVC's mainnet hash rate consistently ranking among the top three in the world. Plus, the mapping relationship of Bitcoin assets to MVC on-chain in the future will also recorded on the Bitcoin network, providing a double security guarantee.
4. First-Layer Smart Contracts: MVC expands Bitcoin's core functions and usage scenarios for Ordinals/BRC-20 assets, achieving first-layer smart contract capabilities (through the addition of OP_CODES and modifications to the TxID method). This means that Bitcoin assets mapped to the MVC network will have infinite possibilities, like enabling the implementation of any DEFI applications found on Ethereum, but being used for low-fee, non-congested SWAP applications, lending applications, and various Dapps on MVC.
(Note: Some functionalities mentioned above, such as seamless asset mapping, will be launched in the first quarter of 2024.)
So, while layer-two solutions like Bitcoin Lightning do address issues related to scalability and low fees, MVC takes it a step further by offering a more secure, user-friendly, and versatile platform.
