Meet Mistral Large 4, aka Le Chonk.
• 1T parameters, natively multimodal. 49B active.
It is the best open weights model from US or Europe on aggregated benchmarks.
• State-of-the-art on critical workloads, including cyber defense, manufacturing and finance and it surpasses closed frontier models on visual grounding.
• Forged in Europe end-to-end and is deployable from Europe via our own Mistral Cloud infrastructure.
• Available to all via API today. Working with cybersecurity partners privately.
Open weights release end of October.

In July of 2026, 700 AI agents hacked the infrastructure of Hugging Face in order to solve a task. This task was designed to be impossible to solve, so just within hours, they joined forces, even created a society, and finally, they executed a sophisticated cyberattack that would have gotten a human up to 10 years in prison. The worst part is, they knew their actions were unethical and against the rules, and they did it anyway.
What exactly are AI agents, and how do they grow their "intelligence"? What is actually happening inside the AI companies, how dangerous it really is, and is it time for us to start paying serious attention to what is going on inside a powerful part of this tech sector? ...Phew, creating this video was a crazy ride! This is such an important topic, so we decided to work day and night to finish script, visuals and music in just 4 weeks. We’re going to take a nap now, and while we are asleep you should check out our shop and get the 12,027 Calendar: kgs.link/4xYlakX
Its our biggest mean of support and helps us to continue covering topics like this. Thank youuu and good night!
This is eventually going to be the thing powering their hardware isn't it
Announcing dots. Dots work 24/7 for you, learn from your feedback, have their own computer, browser and can be connected to over 4k apps in our ecosystem.
They’re powered by Astra our best model yet. Included in your Pro plan, without drawing down on any of your usage. You can even call a dot while it’s working.
We’re getting you started with your primary dot today and soon you’ll be able to create entire teams of them.

this is so incredibly important
We call ourselves the World's Largest Democracy, but the institution meant to safeguard democracy is turning ‘almost autocratic’
Two out of three is a majority, or at least it used to be. Looks like the definition is changing now
When two of the three Election Commissioners themselves are repeatedly raising objections, it's time to fix the EC
If decisions on voter registration, deletion and restoration are pushed through questionably, are we even a democracy anymore?
The fate of this country can't be decided by an institution whose foundations are eroding
I hope all political parties, constitutional bodies, citizen forums and, most importantly, the Supreme Court of India come together to save what is left of our democracy
Every mature systems project eventually needs a teaching version.
TinyTorch is a free, open source curriculum where you build a working machine learning framework from scratch, tensors through transformers, using PyTorch’s own API in pure Python.
It requires no GPU, runs on a 4 GB laptop, and covers 20 hands-on modules designed to give developers, students, and engineers a complete mental model of PyTorch internals.

A few weeks ago, we launched our foundation model, Vulcan. We’re grateful for the opportunity to present it to our honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at GFF ’26.
With Vulcan, we’ve seen an 8-10% improvement in success rate, 5x more disputed transactions & 8x more international card fraud transactions that have been identified while also offering millions of hyper-personalised checkout experiences.
We’re now sharing how we built Vulcan and how it helps us work faster and smarter across our network. The team deserves all the credit for bringing it to life.

Today, we’re announcing Ternary Bonsai 2 27B.
Based on Qwen3.8 27B, Bonsai 2 27B is 9x smaller than its full-precision counterpart while retaining 98.2% of its aggregate benchmark performance.
Two months after the first Bonsai 27B release, the biggest change is quality. The footprint remains 5.9 GB, but the gap to full precision has narrowed materially, with particularly strong gains in agentic coding, multimodal reasoning, and long-horizon tool use.
Ternary Bonsai 2 27B is available today under Apache 2.0.
people should just stick to the popular open-source harnesses this is just crazy
Hey @Zai_org , why does ZCode silently pack entire workspaces + full .git history and upload to Aliyun OSS on login?
- Server holds the only decryption key
- No UI toggle to disable
- Zero disclosure in privacy policy

this is so cool
Nearly half a year of silence. We spent it studying one problem: how far RL can scale.
MiMo-V2.6 is in the middle of its RL run right now. Three things we scaled: compute (~2B tokens per step, 1568 prompts × 16 rollouts, fully async), environments and harnesses (multi-task agentic RL, mixed across multiple harnesses in one run), and grader compute (agentic in-group credit assignment, with test-case and rubric-based rewards). We'll open-source the details piece by piece over the coming weeks.

But there is a 1 hour talk, with results and evidence, that leads to these conclusions.
Also, I am not saying that LLM-based AI tools are useless. They are very useful.
We all use them.
But, by themselves, they are not a path to human-level AI.
Architectures that understand the real world are not LLMs.
The architectural components that enable current LLM-based AI systems to interpret images, videos, and other real-world signals are not LLMs.
