So ao3 [dot] life is a website whose domain was JUST registered today, with millions (?) of fics as audiobooks within their database. Honestly this is highly suspicious β DO NOT email this site for taking your fics down, they have no business knowing that kind of information.

At the end of the day, fanfiction is a gift from writer to reader. We are so lucky that people are willing to share with us.
That said, I'll be fcking dammed if I let another website make me and my writing a commodity, and I encourage you to reflect on that too.

It has republished these to its website in multiple formats, alongside podfics (in some cases) and computer generated audiobooks that people can BUY.Β I obviously find this abhorrent. You can remove your work by emailing them (attached).Β Β 2/3

In light of recent ao3 related events, I have stumbled upon a website that I think authors need to be made aware of.Β
The website ao3 [DOT] life has been scraping and downloading fics published to ao3 for who knows how long. π§΅
NOOOOOOOO β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦..
We estimate that service restoration for #AO3 will take around 2 weeks but it could be up to 4 weeks. We are hopeful that we will be able to bring the site back up in a degraded state sooner. Refer to our status page for updates: otwstatus.org/
