~10 euro an hour to fly in business class with lounges in MEL and BKK and WiFi on board. Easiest and fastest yes I've ever said.
โ๏ธ Lounge hopping in Bangkok. The AY146 layover allows for some speedy visits of the JL and WY lounges, the only two oneworld ones open during our layover. I did my homework and made the most of my short stay with curry, hummus and a nice shower.

๐ถโโ๏ธ #CabinWalk onboard Finnair's Premium-Heavy layout on the A350-900 with 43 business class seats divided over two cabins as opposed to the standard 30 at the front. Relatively light load on the MEL-BKK, fully booked from BKK onwards.

AY146 MEL-BKK-HEL is now one of the longest flights in the world based on blocked time. Let's go home on Finnair's @traveloneworld livery on the Airbus A350-900.
๐ A quick stop to MEL's new baggage handling system before flying back to HEL in a few hours. Thanks to the new facility, the airport has solved one of its main bottleneck. The new infrastructure will enable MEL to continue with its expansion plan.

๐ฌ Finnair is now the only EU-based airline to fly to Australia. They saw the already existing and decided to go all in with the daily service. I now wonder if more airlines from other groups (LH, AF/KLM?) will join. Congratulations to Finnair and MEL! ๐

The days is not over yet. We awaiting Santa Claus to step down from his sleigh (the Airbus A350-900). Beautiful light this morning in Melbourne.

A short layover in Bangkok before continuing to MEL. OH-LWO is getting cleaned ahead of the second leg of the inaugural flight. ๐ฆ๐บ

Top notch catering from HEL. We visited Finnair's facilities back in February and saw how AY goes through literal thousands of blueberry juice every single day. Ahead of the MEL service, Finnair has shipped 18,000 litres of blueberry juice to BKK ๐ซ

๐ซ๐ฎ Finnair's platinum wing is a literal first class lounge, even without the airline having a first class cabin. It goes without saying, I needed to add the sauna experience at the airport. This is probably my favorite airport lounge in Europe.

And the experience at @Finavia HEL remains top notch, no matter the travel class seriously.
Smooth sailing on AY1302. Two-hour flights don't get much better than this. Complimentary WiFi (that worked pretty well), good meal, excellent crew - full article coming tonight via @airwaysmagazine. โ๏ธโ๏ธ
๐บ Finnair's business class is such a well executed cabin. Simple, cozy, light, and well-maintained, the airline has installed the AirLounge product on all its A330s and A350s aircraft. And it's quite common to find these aircraft on flights to MUC, BRU, LHR, AMS and LPA.
๐บ Seat 7L on board OH-LWK, the Air lounge, on this 1:50 hour flight to HEL. Finnair's cabin is probably the best executed in the world and definitely one of my favorites. The seat does not recline but offers so much space and privacy, even without a door.
