OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says it’s “quite terrible” that people have so much DRAM sitting in their own PCs instead of being used in data centers.
“Everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer. And be used 5% of the time,”
He argues that cloud data centers should make better use of limited memory supplies instead of people running AI models locally.

Two pallets of ZOTAC RTX 5090 graphics cards worth around $470,000 have disappeared at São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil.
Brazilian distributor Oderço says the shipment contained RTX 5090 cards valued at R$2.5 million at cost. The pallets arrived at the airport, but the company later discovered they could no longer be located.
They dont exactly what happened to the GPUs.
