Oh. Huh.
If my reply post didn't make this clear to you, this is the Alliance ~housing~ zone in Retail. I could have sworn I typed "housing", and not "starting". My apologies.
I wouldn't mind seeing these butterflies in places like Loch Modan or Elwynn in Forever, though.
Maybe a dragonfly version in Wetlands...as much as chasing them there would probably get me killed. 🤣
I'm decompressing because *waves hand* life, and I found out that you can chase butterflies in the Alliance starting zone.
They mentioned DMF! ... And something about a Blood Moon. 😯
What kinds of things would you like to see there?
One of my favorite events in the Faire was the arena. I had a good time with my friends getting the Returning Champion trinket from there, and the Arena Master trinket from Gurubashi Arena.
It’s that time of the week! Podcast day!

Mist does such lovely work. I've been watching him grow for a while now, and have a Troll themed piece from him.
I GOT IT! 😁
I followed Johnny's advice and got it! My second-most-desired name, on the Normal ruleset, right where I wanted it.
This was a name I pieced together from random name generation while making Darkspear characters during the Beta. "Meeni Doomtusk" is THE perfect Warlock name for this Darkspear Troll as far as I'm concerned.
"But Orcs ar-" SHOOSH!
"Take that BS to the RP-" SHUT IT!
She is perfect and angelic just where and as she is. ❤️ It is destiny.
If you had a name not go through that you felt should be allowed, give it another go after restarts. The system was being more restrictive than intended.

The first bait and switch was hilarious.
"I'm in!"
"Oh. Nope."
I got my one, truly desired name, though. 😁
I also checked, just to see: the Rulesets may be populated with "Sleek Hare" characters that are not me. It's a good name. I don't blame them. But don't be fooled if someone tries to impersonate me or do something malicious. I don't use my internet handle on my main characters in Warcraft. Just two vanity characters on Retail and HC Classic.
I had a little time so I slipped into Retail to finish off the campaign and check out the new labyrinth system - both enjoyable and interesting to me.
But I also forgot how excited I was before BlizzCon about finding out from another X creator that we can create natural-feeling basements in housing now.
This is nowhere near done, but I made a Human/Kul Tiran house that has a basement leading through underground tunnels that pass through Dwarven areas. These Dwarven tunnels will terminate in other Alliance themed areas - like a Kaldorei (Nightelf) temple.
It's a fun, lil project to work when I'm feeling creative.
This is my Horde version - a Goblin speakeasy that doubles as a smuggling point for Forsaken and Vulpera. It's near the beach and inspired by Booty Bay.
Also no where near completed. But it's a good start.
The steps to make a basement are pretty easy.
In layout mode, move your entry room to the second story of an appropriate style room - like an empty stairwell (used here) or full stairwell. Then just build the rest of the layout accordingly. You'll have to change floors between removing the entryway and placing the entryway where you want it.
For what I did, I constructed a solid floor out of platforms in the middle of a stairwell and then added hidden stairways down in the same or adjacent empty stairwells.

Secrets, you say? 😯
There are some very well-buried secrets waiting for players to discover in WoW: Forever 👀
Watch the special Beta breakdown episode of the podcast: youtu.be/uOlxa3xvNq4
The answer to this so far is no, they have not spoken directly about DMF yet.
They mentioned it in passing, comparing it to another event idea.
I hope they come up with some fun shenanigans for it. 😁
As much as I still love it and wish I had time right now... telling people to go play Retail or Classic as they wait for the Forever launch has become our version of "We have WoW at home." 🤣
For my fellow NVIDIA users.
If 621.01 is icky to you, roll back to 617.42 from 10/06/26.

NVIDIA officially confirmed an operational bug in GeForce Game Ready driver 621.01 affecting video playback. Users report display freezes and intermittent black screens while watching media content inside Chrome, Edge, and VLC players, especially when launching games simultaneously.
The problem heavily impacts GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 4090 graphics cards, generating nvlddmkm driver errors alongside LiveKernelEvent timeout recovery codes. NVIDIA representatives opened an official bug report and are currently collecting diagnostic watchdog memory dumps to locate the exact trigger across the newer R620 software branch.
Rolling back to version 617.42 resolves playback stability while engineers prepare a fix.
