.@espn names the Mets a potential fit for Jake Bauers 👀🔥
“The Mets let longtime first baseman Pete Alonsowalk a year ago and signed Jorge Polanco to replace him. That worked out about as well as a root canal from Dr. Tim Whatley. Polanco is still around, but president of baseball operations David Stearns has indicated the starting rotation and first base would be offseason priorities, making Bauers a possibility for the Mets.”

In response, they’re claiming Kyren Paris from the Angels.
.@espn ranks the Mets at No. 16 on their way too early 2027 MLB power rankings:
“The Mets probably wish they had more free agents. For now, they're stuck with Jorge Polanco, Marcus Semien, Sean Manaea, Kodai Senga, Devin Williams and even Bichette -- six players who will make $147 million in 2027 and combined for minus-2.6 WAR in 2026. Ouch.”
Clay Holmes has declined his player option and is set to become a free agent, per @JesseRogersESPN
Should the Mets bring him back 🤔⁉️ nitter.cf/sleepermets/status/211…
