There are various factors to consider when purchasing consumables from outlets that are not Halaal certified. It is inappropriate to patronise establishments where Haraam meals are served, especially in situations that present a risk of cross contamination. Additionally, the use of bristle brushes is common in coffee shops, some of these may be natural bristle brushes of porcine origin. Coffee products may also be processed with additives and flavourings that require further screening to determine their Halaal status.
