On the topic of cybersecurity and AI… I’ve always found it incredibly naive (& dumb) to believe that “just use your own AI to monitor and fix problems BEFORE they’re exploited” (1/?)

/endrant before some room temperature IQ Claude junkie gets defensive about their $200 a month dopamine boost

You’ve got to either be blind, ignorant, or arrogant to believe that there’s been any benefit to humanity as a whole up to this point… let alone any security benefits. It’s always been way easier to break through defenses than to guard the castle walls

Before AI we had the problem of humans either not knowing when/if/how to ask the “how can this be broken, *what* is at risk”. Now we have the problem of imperfect people using code generated by imperfect software.

Scientists have identified the specific male dance movements that women find most attractive Researchers from Northumbria University mapped out the exact body mechanics that signal health, vigor, and reproductive quality to female observers.

Now so many larpers and co-dependents can’t do the thing we used to enjoy doing (for free!) without spending more money on their likely $100+ subscriptions.
🚨 Confirmed. OpenCode hacked. Keys stolen. Telling customers to revoke.

One of the many reasons to check out Midnight Guns @mguns_fps Great game made by passionate devs with many years of knowledge and experience around Quake and the engine, and community members (like me, and many others) who aim to make gold, goofs, and everything in between!

I was wrong. I get it now. Free no more. Let me pay a model to pump out so many "cool" things for me and my peers to use, any and all ideas get committed and released. ... then we can pay for models to write more code to use the endless onslaught of code "we" wrote

Since everyone's building a browser nowadays, how about a browser that just fuckin works and doesn't cram spyware and AI into every orifice

Gotta love that the first thing to do is collaborate rather than a lawsuit or filing a police report and taking it to court. Keep yanking the chains of the CEOS of irresponsible companies, I’ll get the lotion next time!
We suspected last week's cyberattack might have come from a frontier lab, given the sophistication of the agent. Turns out it did! We've spent the past 24 hours working closely with the @OpenAI team (thanks!), and we strongly believe there was no malicious intent on their part. It's quite mind-blowing that all of this happened autonomously! The investigation is ongoing, and we'll share more learnings from what might be the first incident of its kind!

Surprised someone hasn’t made an “open source data broker” platform to buy and sell people’s personal info /s

Honestly, ass-backwards statements are phasing me less and less. “Cost of writing code dropped” if cost is an issue then you got more than a coding problem “Cost of owning didn’t” - yes, because went from essentially 0 to me paying autocorrect to hopefully work “this time around”
