I'm so excited that I could show that, because my first session today was terrible. I've never had that type of session before. I wasn't nervous, I was totally calm, but I was just confused, like, "What's going on with me and with my legs and body?" Then I had two hours before I left my hotel, and I was just thinking about it. I was like, "I was doing my free program a lot of times in my practices, so I can show it even here." And I did. On her scores Samodelkina: Obviously, I'm kind of sad, because I always try to show my best, and I was kind of sad about my scores. It's good that it's higher than last season, but I really think that I improved a lot of things. I'm not saying that I'm perfect. I will be perfect. But now I think I improved something, but my scores are saying different things. So we're going to work on it. I have a lot of things I want to learn, so it's good. On working with Rafael Arutyunyan Samodelkina: My coach said that we will work on a lot of parts, because my coach can see everywhere. He always says, "This one, you're doing so bad." "Oh, okay, I have to repeat it 100 times." And it's totally fine. I really like to work with him. A lot of things he says, "Yeah, you improved it, but now you have to do a lot more if you want to be perfect." And of course, I want to be perfect. Sometimes he's happy, sometimes he's not. Sometimes he says I'm not working enough, and I will work more. On where she needs to improve Samodelkina: I would say everywhere: in jumps, in spins, in footwork, everything, even my skating skills, because I'm working a lot with Shae-Lynn and with Rafael. Every day we have a skating skills class. I would say I improved my skating skills more than even my jumps. I hope someday I'm going to get very good scores, and I'll be really excited. But of course, I need to do my program perfectly, with no mistakes, with not even a little bit of minus. And then I'm going to get a lot of points, I hope. On preparing for Skate America Samodelkina: I think I will not even have a day off, because I don't want to. I want to work as much as I can. I will have only eight or nine days. Tomorrow we're flying back to California and start working with Rafael, with Shae-Lynn Bourne, with everyone. I saw that I have level four everywhere, so it means my work was really good, because I was working on my spins, step sequences. My jumps were kind of careful. I wasn't as brave as I can be. But that's okay. Maybe this atmosphere and competition, I very liked to perform. And the crowd was crazy. Everyone was clapping, so I feel really good. On her program with Shae-Lynn Bourne Samodelkina: Always when I work with Shae-Lynn, it's something special. When you're making your program, you're skating a lot, and even when I'm skating a lot, I'm not even tired, because Shae-Lynn is always inspiring me. It was our shared idea to make this program. She suggested the second one, "These Boots Are Made for Walking," and the first one, "Bang Bang," I found by myself. On her goals for the season Samodelkina: I really wanna make my triple Axel stable and add a quad too, because I know that if I don't jump triple Axel and quad, it's very hard to be top three or even top six. I really wanna show it because I know I can do it, but now it's kind of 50/50, and I don't really like to risk. I don't think I need to do it right now. So I'm gonna improve my triple Axel, maybe recover my quad, and include it in my program. That's my plan for this season. I hope I'm gonna do it by Skate America.
