🚧 Week 2 Round-up: Huddersfield station improvement works 🚆
We're nearing the end of our latest series of improvement works in the Huddersfield area ✅
Our teams have been working around the clock and have now far delivered:
🛤️ Over 1.3km of track renewals and over 900m of drainage - this will increase the reliability of services passing through the area
⚡ Over 50 mast installations for overhead line equipment - these will help power greener, electrified services in the future
🛤️ 2km of new track installed for fast lines - this will enable direct services to overtake stopping ones and reduce journey times
🛠️ Huddersfield station upgrade – restoration of the historic roof canopy, and an extension to the subway for improved accessibility
💺Deighton station upgrade – platform extension work so longer trains with more seats can stop at the station
A special mention to our @TPExpressTrains and @northernassist colleagues who have kept customers on the move throughout this period 👏

Have you seen the footage coming out of France? Schools being set on fire, teachers and police officers being beaten up, and a woman having her face set on fire.
Anyway, I'm in no doubt that SUTR will love to bring that same chaos to the UK.
The threat of the far right is growing.
We urgently need to build a mass movement that can mobilise on the scale we need to stop them.

The Class 17s had an awful reputation for reliability. The last one built entered service in 1965 but all had been withdrawn by 1971! Yet the sole survivor now at @svrofficialsite has always seems to perform well and today was no exception, we had a great run behind it.
