The #Internet shutdown in #Iran has entered its 4th day, continuing to isolate the country from the outside world.

Trade wars & arms races do not create global security—they deepen inequality, fuel polarisation & make the world more dangerous for everyone.
What we need is inclusive, sustainable development.
I urge governments: invest in human rights & uphold the right to development for all
“The best way to ensure global security is through sustainable development and the realisation of human rights – not trade wars or arms races.”

Today, 1 in 10 people go hungry. By 2050, #climatechange could push 80M more into hunger.
This isn’t about lack of food—it’s about systems that make food inaccessible, unaffordable & unsustainable.
We need food & land use systems built on equity, sustainability & human rights.

We’re in Taipei speaking with some incredible people working to advance human rights in the digital age. One of those at the forefront of this work is Henri Verdier the French Ambassador for Digital Affairs within the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
Since 2018, he has led and co-ordinated French digital diplomacy and he was instrumental in last week’s AI Action Summit in Paris hosted by President Macron. @HenriVerdier @brettsolomon #RightsCon2025 creators.spotify.com/pod/sho…

Natalia Krapiva is the tech-legal Counsel with @accessnow Prior to that she worked as a prosecutor at Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. She's been fighting NSO Group to try to limit the sale and use of spyware for many years and last December set a precedent with a win against this Israeli cyber-intelligence firm in the California court.
We talk to her about this and the state of digital forensics. As she says "it's a game of cat and mouse".

Hi European populist politicians, you want to push Syrian refugees back to these homes while foreign powers are still bombing and no one knows how and who will be governing the various regions of the country? It would be cruel and reckless. Those who can will voluntarily return.
