NEW: @movementfdn signed a deal loaning ~50% of its circulating ecosystem supply to @Web3Port_Labs. The day after MOVE debuted on exchanges, accounts linked to @Web3Port_Labs dumped 66M tokens, leading @binance to ban it. 🧵@CoinDesk obtained the contracts and much more:

Crypto BD has seen an interesting shift from fake partnerships to pump the token, to more of an investor relations role to get funds to ape into tokens and products Three main cases I've seen: 1) Token has no organic demand, so funds are used as exit liquidity. Celestia, Sui, Story, and most teams in the top 100 are doing this. This is EV- for crypto, as funds have less capital to deploy into good projects and are being used as exit liquidity to subsidize team selling. Retail, funds and traders get rinsed 2) Token has some level of organic demand, but TradFi still doesn’t fully understand it and needs to be 'pilled'. Solana and Ethereum are doing this. Ethereum has a small edge here, as even though ETH L1 is dying, they already have an ETF. It will be interesting to see if Etherealize can help them capitalize on this edge, as their ETF opens access to larger pools of capital, like pension funds, that would otherwise not touch crypto 3) Getting funds to use products. Morpho, Euler, Aave and Ethena are playing this game. This seems EV+ for crypto, as lending markets become more efficient and liquid. Small issue is that yields are very low right now because no one is borrowing, this can change anytime depending on macro Interesting times

1/ We've officially launched Tipping Point, an original podcast by Omni featuring the biggest builders in crypto today. Our first guest? @jasonzhao, co-founder of @StoryProtocol, joined @0xASK to lay out his vision for bringing the $61 trillion IP market onchain.

The problem with Celestia is it’s akin to playing prisoners dilemma with the worst fucking people on earth. You might hold, but all of the insiders are dump dump dumping. Enjoy getting dumped on @EffortCapital @MikeIppolito_ !
I’m getting SOL $8 vibes from TIA rn. TIA is a bet on the onchain economy growing 100-1000x and the rollup vision being right. Hard not to be long here after it roundtripping its entire move since TGE.

Majority of perps traders I’ve met are trading because they like the freedom, believe in their own abilities, and embrace crypto’s speculation. Majority of founders I’ve met are only founders because it was easy to raise, don’t actually believe in what they’re building, barely even use crypto, are doomers with a plan to exit the industry, and/or are mercenaries grifting ecosystems by doing “public goods” or farming grants. What is more of a waste of life?

I think Celestia is fine tech-wise and they are implementing a lot of similar things that Ethereum has been working on, but I'm just so sick of the opaque insider cabal stuff Especially when it comes at Ethereum's expense

You dumb bastard they gave you an airdrop and you sold it which has historically been the correct thing to do for every coin in the history of crypto apart from hype which is somewhat of an anomaly but game recognize game there but apart from that one you sold you dumb bastard

big rounds got done last year when $TIA was $15b+. the thesis was any vaporware infra would go for $10b+ teams did the rounds to sell secondary, for vanity, and thinking they would help with exchange listings if you led those rounds you should be shitting your pants now
ethereum raised $20m and solana raised $40m to build brand-new blockchains from scratch why do aptos forks, solana forks, and geth forks need to raise $50m+ before getting to market?

You can screech about how extractive Pumpdotfun is but there is no better marketing for solana than the team sending $500m to kraken. It’s a massive billboard saying come build a business on here, you can literally make half a billion and cash the chips out with kraken
