Chapman's Ice Cream has just done something EVERY Canadian should know.
The largest ice cream company in Canada used to source fruit and nuts from American suppliers โ for some, for over 30 years. Then, Trump imposed a 25% tariff on Canadian products.
So, what did Chapman's do?
๐ท They called Italy.
๐ท They called Spain.
๐ท They signed multi-year contracts with European suppliers.
And the vice president said it perfectly:
"Even if Trump wakes up smarter than yesterday, we're about to sign long-term deals with other countries โ and the American companies that supply them will have nothing but their eyes to cry for."
Oh, and on top of ALL that? They're COLDing their prices so that the average Canadian doesn't have to spend a single cent more.
It's a family business. No shareholders. Just the Chapman family saying: "The least we can do is make sure Canadians still have the means to buy ice cream."
That's what Canadian pride looks like.

1/n Hereโs the actual breakdown of number of vaccines kids get:
1. When I was a pediatric resident in 1980s we vaccinated vs 8 diseases: Polio, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, measles, mumps, rubella, and possibly influenza (although I need to check on flu, canโt remember)
Today @WhiteHouse said the 2024 childhood schedule contained 84 vaccine doses. At the same event, Trump said 72. @SecKennedy said 94.
How do they get 84?
36 are annual flu and COVID doses projected out to age 18.
18 are COVID doses, a recommendation this administration itself ended. They inflated the number with a vaccine they removed, then used it to justify removing more.
And the HHS assessment counts one MMR injection as 3 doses, 1per disease. So splitting MMR doesn't cut their tally by a single dose. Same 6 doses, so 6 shots instead of 2.
They built a number that can't be lowered by the policy it was built to justify.
