It might be hard for people who didn't grow up with the shorts in heavy rotation on TV to understand that these were in fact theatrical shorts & all these characters were created iteratively over a long period of time, LT didn't start as a TV show with a Series Bible or a Pilot so the thought that big groups of the characters would ever be pictured together outside of coloring books or other ancillary merchandise never occurred to the artists & animators who created them. What that means to modern audiences is that the characters, & the series of LT / MM cartoon shorts were never "Fandom Friendly" - they didn't provide any kind of consistency that would make LT reruns a "comfort show" where you have a regular cast, & a regular location, that you become familiar with & kind of hang out with them in. If you watched The Bugs Bunny Show on ABC or Looney Tunes on Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network in the 90s you might go from a Bugs cartoon where he's opposite Edward G. Robinson to One Froggy Evening to Porky & Sylvester in a haunted house, all within the span of a half hour. You didn't know what you were going to get, & that was the strength of that series, the variety - the art styles & the characterizations would even vary from director to director, ie. wacky Clampett Daffy vs. neurotic Jones Daffy, who were drawn by different teams of animators. This is all just to say that in selling LT to new audiences in recent years, they've had to make it something very different from what it was originally - something closer to what TV audiences expect - & that's fine if you like that, but it's something very different from what made them great in the first place.
