What about if we generated a community of #Bitcoin holders who could benefit from reasonably large discounted prices at a merchant for ordering en masse and paying in #Bitcoin? Gives people a reason to spend and replace and create a win win for both parties. Merchants have 2 prices. One for retail and a cheaper one for wholesale due to the increased order volumes. In essence we’re leveraging the community aspect of #Bitcoin to the benefit of certain merchants and benefiting the #Bitcoin community with lower prices. This works best for small owner operated businesses who deliver their products nationally as they have no geographical restrictions whereas ‘in person’ merchants do have obvious restrictions. We’re going to test the theory out @spendinbitcoin over the next few weeks to see if this actually works in practice. 🇬🇧 trials only for now and would love to chat to @Bridge2Bitcoin and @BitcoinEventsUK to see how we can get awareness of these discounts to the community. All merchants I’ve spoken to are keen as it makes total sense to them and being owner operated businesses the volumes don’t need to be huge to make a difference. Welcome any thoughts and critique.
